Nice Track model Z, but where did you hear you're supposed to change the oil on a new car at 1500 miles???? Does that apply to the RX-8/rotaries only?? Because from everything I've ever heard, you don't want to do your first oil change any sooner than is recommended, due to the break-in properties of the oil. Anyone care to comment?

Yea, im wonderin how the hell you can break in a rotary engine. Everything ive ever understood about them is that they are very resilient engines that can take tons of abuse, i wouldn tthink he would have any worries about driving the thing hard from the factory. He probably doesnt want to change his oil until the first scheduled maintenance if thats what the service department tells him to do. If hes unsure he should just call and ask the head tech. I really hope I get to run one before i sell my Z. Since it got nice out ive gotten highway kills on a VR-4, S2000, Evo8 (beat him BAD, those cars are so weak once they hit 80mph), Integra TypeR, Boxster S and WRX. Beating a new RX would make me happy. Theres been tons of other "kills" but most of them arent worth talkin about, and YES I do lose but usually the cars that know they can kill me dont even bother or are old business men not interested in flexin their engines.

Anyways, tell your brother props on the ride and post some pics soon. My buddy has an old 86 RX-7 and he went crazy when he just got to sit in the new RX-8 at Hot Import Nights.
