you might want to consider painting the hub of the brembos. they will rust pretty quick. that was one thing i wasnt too happy about.

I'm hoping that'll keep it from rusting out
The new brakes are pretty good, but i'm not used to the increased stopping distance compared to the Hawks.
The bite is significantly softer.

**** is so thick (Yes, indeed that is what she said)
It was like bending a sheet of stainless steel
Trunk's done, took 4 sheets, could have done more, but felt useless in those areas.
I really should have bought the roller =.=

Re: Kennykid2002's Build Thread
Sorry for the lack of updates folks.
But time to start working on the ride after a couple months being on the fence about selling or keeping the car.
Over this period of time, only thing that's been done cosmetically to the car is I added a Type R Front lip.
I painted it with plastidip white.
Though, it doesn't sit quite right, so I think I'm just gonna throw it in the trash.
Anyways, back to the goodies.
Just ordered the Teins, but here's my update list that's sitting on a sticky note on my laptop. More stuff will be rolling in this month, so stay tuned.
17" Rota Grid Sport Bronze 4x100 +40 - $680
215/45/17 Falken Ziex ZE-512 - $332
Tein S. Tech - $150
AEM Short Ram - $130
Megan Racing 4-1 Header - $70
DYC 3Gal Kit - $299
Benen Gold Tow Hook - $50
RSX Tan Cloth Seats - $250??
Optima 51 Yellow Top - $120
I'm planning to dip my car in flat white, which is why you see the DYC 3gal kit.
The AEM intake will probably be polished, and may send it off to get powdercoated bronze.
The whole theme here is going to be bronze/gold and white.

Re: Kennykid2002's Build Thread
Yeah one of my friends has a set of konig rate r wheels and they look like the grids too, and yeah I like them but still not sure how i feel about how they bend at the rim of the wheel because the spoke actually sticks out past the lip...

Lol i want a not so slammed look with maybe a 16x8 with a neg offset like my friends srt used to have, From the front or rear the way the rims and tires stuck out the correct alignment.. looked amazing

Re: Kennykid2002's Build Thread
With a 16x8, I really don't think our cars could handle a neg offset.
Look what else came in
According to wheelweights.net, these should be 18.5lbs, which is 0.5lbs more than my Si rims.
According to my scale, these are 17.4lbs.

Re: Kennykid2002's Build Thread
Got everything ready, and forgot a critical component.
Thanks to @Sl33pyriceboi for reminding me.
The OEM lugnuts won't fit onto aftermarket wheels, so I had to purchase new lugnuts.
I wanted something OEM looking, chrome with a wheel lock, so I opted for a set of Project Kics/Kyo-ei acorn nuts with bull lock.
They came in.
But, sadly for me, I only have a $1000 credit line, so I had to wait the weekend to get payments cleared up on the card before ordering my tires.
But tires are finally ordered, and they will be here friday.
In the mean time, I can try to see what my rims will look like on the body, and it looks like sex to me.

Car is looking good!!! Like the white and bronze combo....How is that Second Skin working? Looks like a good product and its not to exspensive. I need to isolate my trunk some for my sub.
#85
Re: Kennykid2002's Build Thread
It's working pretty well actually.
Though, it prevents me from showing off, as it retains all the sound inside the cabin.
If I were to suggest, to get the original Second skin material, rather than this new alphadamp line, simply because the material is easier to work with.
The alphadamp is ridiculously thick.

Re: Kennykid2002's Build Thread
Got the tires installed today, worked all day on getting the Teins in.
I told them not to add weights to the front of my rim...
So they did the next best thing...
"Stacks on stacks on stacks"
Just for drools before I drop her.
Fronts done.
Rears done. Rear passenger side was a total ish. Muffler was in the way, couldnt get LCA down far enough to get the bolt.
Sat there for like an hour figuring it out.
I was going to take a lot of pictures along the way, but the job ended up longer than I intended. Ended up ditching the idea.
So far the car's settled somewhat, and is slightly less than 2 finger gap. Looks good to me.
Will post pictures tomorrow, or monday, after I get my alignment.
