Re: Kennykid2002's Build Thread
I started at like 9 at nite, and finished at like 11 lol
Not that long at all
Drove it pretty hard today, paint seemed to be holding up
Though, the gloss died.
Turned into the flat black that looked like the cap color and feel
In a way, I kinda like that better.

Re: Kennykid2002's Build Thread
I was thinking about that actually
You know, after i drove around today, lifted the hood, put my hand in between the radiator fan and the header
It doesnt seem to be as hot as it was previously

Re: Kennykid2002's Build Thread
Despite what everyone says about the Walmart $20 buffer,
I went and bought it the other day
I refused to believe turtle wax is that bad.

Anyways, it worked pretty well today
I washed her, and waxed her with the buffer.
Of course it used maybe like 5x + more wax than hand waxing, but my arms are def loving me for buying it. Buffer seems to hold up on its own.
Will use it a couple more times to see whats up.

Re: Kennykid2002's Build Thread
Thanks guys, I was really tired today, washed my car. So those brakes would probably go in tomorrow
I need to pick up some silicone paste at the auto store for the sliding pins anyways.
Also, put in my order of 20 sqft of sound deadener, so those will be arriving soon.
After I install that, the cardboard trunk floor will be gutted to make room for some 3/4 MDF

looks good kenny!
hey i got a question.. those 4 pin/screws coming out on there.. how do you get one of those replaced? i have been missing a lug nut thing on my rear drivers side wheel, and i bought one and took it to the tire place to have them put it on cuz i couldnt. and he came out, and tried to do it, and then told me that the pin or whatever is broken and stripped. and he said i would need it replaced in order to put the nut on.
f.m.l.
do you know how much it cost to fix one of those? or where to go? or what i should do? i'd like it fixed before a road trip especially..

I'm totally jealous of how clean your calipers are :P
Being from Northern Ontario, my calipers are covered in rust and grime from all the salt on the roads in the winter, and I'd really like to paint the calipers and drums, but the process in removing all of the rust is just so time consuming, and I'm so lazy lol.

Re: Kennykid2002's Build Thread
how do u like ur brake pads kenny?
i never hear of them before.
and i didnt really like my brembo. they didnt last too long for some reason but that could have been because i used hawk hps+ on them.
OEM FTW.
you know u could have resurfaced ur rotor and it would look/feel new and clean

Re: Kennykid2002's Build Thread
i really need to change my rotors as well. They look far worse than your original ones. I've been looking to buy some brembo blanks but can't seem to find any locally. kenny, where did you get yours?

Brake dust is very very low too
I really didn't want to resurface my rotors since its like $15 per rotor, when i can add a little more and get peace of mind with brand new rotors.
