Strut and Coil Spring replacement questions...

I bought a 01 Civic Ex with 179000 miles and all 4 struts are blown. The car has 18" wheels on it and with 4 people in the car the rear rub when it bounces.

My question is... Should I replace the springs along with the struts because I'm not sure how long the struts were blown and riding on the springs.

I would like to kept the stock height...nothing performance, so what would be your suggestions for what to put on it. Do they sell the strut and coil spring together? Who has the best price?

Springs don't wear out, just swap your current ones onto a new set of struts and you'll be fine.

Kyb GR-2 is a good strut for stock height, its basically an OEM equivalent.

i would take tokico blues over KYB in a heart beat.

the blues have a bit better dampening and will hold its ground better than the KYBs......even for stock height.....and especially if u are going to carry 4 people in the car.

take a look at this thread:

You might be able to find someone getting rid of an aftermarket suspension setup that's better and cheaper then a replacement oem setup.

Hint, check out my part out three (link in Sig)

not trying to beak your deal, but he is on 18" wheels, so he will need to keep the coilovers at full height
the stiffer springs might help, though
