Air conditioning COLD for about 30 minutes and then it slowly blows softer and softer
2006 Honda Civic coupe. The AC blows cold and strong when you first drive for about 30 minutes and then it slowly blows softer and softer. The fan sounds strong, and goes up and down when you turn the fan ****, but the amount of air that trickles out of the vent does not change. You can feel COLD air, but it only dribbles out. We have replaced compressor, a/c clutch assembly, cabin filter. Does seem to work fine again if you pull over, turn the car all the way off and then restart engine. Is this a "computer" problem or a blend actuator problem? Is there a way to diagnose?
TIA!
TIA!
Re: Air conditioning COLD for about 30 minutes and then it slowly blows softer and so
The issue isn't the temperature of the air, it is the amount of air flow that comes out of the vents. When you first start the car, the a/c and fan control works perfectly. After about 30 minutes the amount of air that comes out of the vents is reduced. Not the temperature of the small amount of air, but the amount of air. When you turn the fan speed up and down, the fan sounds like it is going faster or slower, but the amount of air remains reduced.
