Can I put a Vtec engine or newer civic or v8 engine in my civic? And where should I look for help on how to engine swap?

Honda Tech https://honda-tech.com/ and Honda Swap: http://hondaswap.com/ are more geared for swaps. If you re looking to do an all motor (no turbo) swap you may want to consider a B18 (1.8L DOHC) or B20 (2.0L DOHC) engine to swap.

Jesus. If you could fit a V8 under the hood of a civic and make it work, man.. A J-series V6 was a tight enough fit for one member.
idk about swapping in a B20, but a B16 or B18 is what I'd look at. The EM1 civic Si came with a B16A2 under the hood, and that engine is kind of a badass. It'd probably fit the easiest in the engine bay. If you're just looking for a VTEC engine swap, D16Y8 is where you're gonna wanna look to. Not gonna get much increase for that swap, though. Something like 127BHP. The B16A2 is rated at, what, 160BHP?
Buddy of mine had a B18 LS-VTEC swap. I think it was a B18C5 with a B18C1 head or something. Idk. It was a beast though.
K20 swaps have been popular since they were introduced in the early 2000s, too. K20 is a badass engine, too. K20A3 (160BHP) from an EP3 Civic/DC5 RSX base model, K20A2 (200BHP) from an RSX-S, or, if you can find one, a K20A (212-217BHP) from an JDM CTR/ITR, and the kicker is you can find lots of engine/tranny assemblies that include the ECU and an LSD in the tranny.

Re: I want to engine swap my CivicDx 1999 coupe, what engines can fit in my car?
I am familiar with a B20 (2.0L) w/LS head as that is what was swapped into my '95 EX. The transmission has to be swapped as well to either an Acura LS, GSR or SI (Civic). Mine is a non- Vtec, low compression engine (there is a high compression version) and it puts out about 130 hp and 130 ft/lb torque which doesn't sound like a lot. However, unlike B16 (1.6L) and B18 (1.8L) series motors that produce peak numbers at higher revs (near 7,000 rpm) a B20 will have more torque at lower rpm's and across the entire power band. A B20 with Vtec will produce around 160-170 hp and 140 ft/lb torque after 4500 rpm when the Vtec engages and a proper wide band tune. Personally, for an all motor build I prefer torque over rpm that provides immediate power rather than a higher rev to provide power.

An LS will fit in a hatch. Google Civette.
I would love to put a J series in a Civic hatch.
Swapping is not cheap.

In a serious tone, anyone attempting to do such a thing are resourceful, so they did not ask, they up and done it.
Resourcefulness are a must. If you need to ask, the chances of not completing are really big.
if you can't even find the cibaru or civette in the internet...

For civic engines, there are plenty of information on the forums here. If one is willing enough to build, he can research before asking

Actually, this V12 Jaguar in a Miata, the maker did start by asking questions in forums, so it is not unheard of. He actually completed the build.
I am not mocking you, mind. If you are serious, by all means go do it.
But even a K-series swap (most common) or a B-series (getting rare to find engines) will have troubles that looks unsolvable. If you are not serious, don't try.
