Need some help
Need some help
So I just bought a 2000 Honda civic DX as a fun but reliable and easy car to work on and maintain for work and back nothing more. It appears to be manual swapped at first glance because there's electrical tape over the PRND on the dash cluster. It cuts out about 3000-4000 RPMs I've replaced. Intake air temperature sensor, map sensor, sparkplugs and wires, air filter, fuel filter, cleaned the throttle body. My tps shows a slight code now. And intake air temperature sensor showed a code till I replaced. I'm gonna buy a tps hope that takes the car out if limp mode but my concern is with it possibly being manual swapped it's hard to tell enless you can give me tips where to look for signs of an actual manual swap or if it was the dash cluster that's swapped because the title is exempt on miles. Anyway the car cuts out. Any suggestions where to look and can anyone tell me what ECU I would need for the d16y7 and 5 speed manual transmission hoping it's not the wrong ECU
Re: Need some help
Take the VIN on the body and put it in a Honda parts dealer's site, should tell you if it was originally auto or manual.
Alternatively, compare the VIN on the engine/body to the transmission (if there is one).
