Need help finding VSS sensor

I'm trying to replace my VSS on my 2006 Civic LX (manual) because my speedometer stopped working. I was trying to follow the directions here: http://civic.hondafitjazz.com/A00/HT...821KBAT00.HTML

I've taken off the air cleaner (or at least moved it out of the way) but I dont see anything that looks like the sensor in the field of view. See attached pic

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

what makes you think the sensor is faulty?

if the sensor is faulty your CEL should be on.....is it?

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Thanks ezone, that's the one. It looks like it's on the back side of the transmission. Can I get to it from the bottom? or do I need to completely remove the air filter assembly?

Mikey1: The CEL is on and the code read that the VSS was bad.

I have no idea, I've never had to replace one of those.
Probably faster for you to slide under the car and figure out if you can reach it.

You might check the wires real good, rodents LOVE eating wires.
