Is it paint or old plasti dip
Is it paint or old plasti dip
Ok, moving to body work. The beater I bought has the mirrors and trunk black. The normal color is the clover green. Here's the kicker- looks like some of what ever it is came off of some spots and the clover green is coming through. I've been trying a reducer to remove it, even lacquer thinner. The lacquer thinner seems to work, kinda on the mirrors and not making a dent on the trunk. I was able to use my finger nail on a piece that had started to come off showing the green under it prior to using the chemicals. I read that if it flakes it's paint, if it peels it's dip. Does old plasti dip flake as well? the goal was to try to only paint what I need to by removing this black stuff from the car. or should I just give in and just get them painted too?
Thanks!

It doesn't unfortunately. I used some lacquer thinner to get some off and saw the under coat had a shine to it and was harder. So, kind of guessing it's dip over paint over paint...
