just this....

if your car comes with black side mirrors, is it OK to paint them? like will the paint still properly and such?

If you are planning to paint it with those spray paint and primers from Pepboys no they would not still properly. If it rains the paint will melt, and if it doesn't rain then the sunlight is going to make the paint crack and chip off. Hope this helps.

I see... Then it would be fine whether if it's unpainted black or the factory black paint. The paint should still properly as long as it's painted by shops.

ok, so far so good....

now what if its not a civic and none of the cars in the whole line came with painted mirrors... would they have soem kind of clear coat or somthing on them? I am thinking of a domestic, and I am very wary of it...

it doesnt matter. when they paint it they are going to sand it down and primer it anyways, so it will turn out fine. they dont just throw the paint on top of it without any prep or anything.

It actually does matter. The shop has to use a special type of base coat so that the rest of the paint will adhear to the plastic. I don't recall what it is called, but you could ask your shop.

if you prep it, then use clear coat, and wax it, the spray paint should last fine. it will take a long time tho, and alot of coats
