How much to paint a car?

A friend of mine wants to repaint his car. It's currently green and wants it white or black or that gunmetal from the M3. how much does a typical full car paint job go for? Do a full body usually include the engine bay aswell? Thanks and any place recommendation would be great too.

If you want it fully painted.... engine bay, door jams, inner trunk, etc... it'll probably cost around $5,000-$6,000

is there something special about this paint that I don't know about? it's just regular paint in a grey tone with a pearl finish.

i just painted my wifes car using bmw black pearl and it cost me $105 for expensive paint. enough to do 3 coats.
