2015 Civic Check Airbag System Code B000213
2015 Civic Check Airbag System Code B000213
I have a 2015 Honda Civic SE that I bought brand new. Have taken good care of it. It has about 125k miles on it in the Midwestern USA. Has not been in any accidents (2 fender benders where the rear bumper got scrapped).
"Check Airbag System" light was coming on last month on and off. I removed the seats and unplugged and replugged the connectors under the seat back in (note we share the car so my wife pulls the seat forward while I pull it back). Also checked the 10 amp Fuse in Slot 3 under the steering wheel and the fuse looked good so I did not replace it. The light did not show up again for about 3-4 weeks. Recently my wife told me the light came back on a few days ago while she was leaving work and picking up our little one from daycare. Temperatures did drop outside where I live below freezing (not sure if it was a coincidence or it came on because of the temperature drop). The temperature now is in the lower 50's. We keep the car parked in the garage at home. It has not come on when I have driven it. It has for the most part stayed off but it does go on and off at times.
I bought a Autel A619 Scanner that has SRS diagnostic feature and it is giving me fault code:
B000213 Permanent DTC
Open or increased resistance in the driver's airbag second inflator.
Please note when I scanned the vehicle, the "Check Airbag System" light was off.
Can anyone provide some advice and guidance on what I should do?
Should I try changing the car battery?
Should I try resetting/erasing the code with the scanner as it could be an old fault code in the system?
Will keep monitoring it.
