freaking potholes

my poor 2005 civic seems might never reach 400,000 or 500,000 miles.

coming of auto fill gas station bam pothole, ball joint poped , axle flew out, car was left on the ground. major fender damage hood moved sideways..
wheel came off.. Tranny fluid everywhere, axle was spinning and good knows what hit.

I got it on jackstand at home garage by towing, just lazy to look more detailed if any more damage is there.

Ridiculous

car is wrecked.. collision insurance , i dont see it buying it back to make it worth to fix it.

Fiy, I checked 2 weeks ago for any play in wheels bearings tie-rods etc. there was none.

autozone ball joint is **** quality.. not even close to OEM...good size pothole at low speed pooped it internally out.. like the ball came out of the socket...

Since I keep track of how long OEM parts last and aftermarket or their durability, I can vouch Autozone duralast is ****..
the pothole wasnt that big, and i checked the freaking balljoinst 2 weeks ago.

Definitely not strong steel or design. I guess i might be buying a new car soon, unless i get it back and repaired .

maybe i will post pics later...

Re: freaking potholes

hate to say i got an offer i couldn't refuse . was not worth buying it back for the money they wanted.. and then add the repairs .. not worthed,.. so the 05 civic unfortunately will not get more than 330,000 miles.. I was shy of my goal of 500,000..

there is the autozone ball joint)

axle broke at the joint the boot at least.. everything else is fine, .. fender busted, and hood moved a little..

good thing i got friends i got it towed for 50 bucks, it was close to my house 2 miles..
trying to get it off the road since i didnt have triple AAA and am poor spender, I used my rolling jack to jack it over sliding it to the side of the road, and put a jack under need it to raise it up till the tow truck got there..

freaking po po s are very sensitive, they wanted it off the road fast.

dont worry i will still be a member here, i like some of the wizzards here, pretty relaxed forum compared to other I have been at.
