I hate potholes.
I was driving around at night about 2 weeks ago and hit a pothole I didn't see kinda hard. On my way home from work I heard something that wasn't right. coming from the passenger side where I had hit the pothole (sway bar was rubbing against the engine compartment). Evidently the pot hole must have been deep enough to bust/pop the front sway bar bolt out of the endlink.
Just gotta vent cause it pissed me off.

damn that sucks..
Here in southern maryland its about the same way..
Their not really all that bad but when you see one after hitting it, it feels and looks bad..
I get so afraid of bending my wheels or chopping up my tires..
the tend to **** me off alot also, so dont feel bad..
just get your car fixed and keep an open eye out!
and i feel ya man, up there in baltimore its the ****!

I scrape my greddy evo over just about every speed bump. One day I wasn't careful and accidently went over a speedbump a little too fast and I heard the muffler actually hit the speed bump.

dude this is a bit off topic and i apologize for the whoring, but you know what pisses the chit outta me? when i end up hitting a pothole and i'm all pissed and cussin the road out, and i have a passenger in the car that simply says, "its your own fault for lowering your car man." grrr. don't EVER ask me for another ride beeyotch.
yes they do
My friend has a 1997 civic with 17 inch rims with brand new yaokahoma parada tires and he hit a pot hole and imedately riped a hole in the side wall of the tire- we called a few places and they said that they couldnt patch the hole if it was in the side wall so he has 2 buy another new tire and there not cheap

Okay, here's a kinda wierd question. Did the city/town have a sign there indicating there was a road hazard/pothole at that location? The reason I ask is, when I had a buddy run over a pothole here a couple years ago, he went to city hall and asked for a claim form. What he did is charge the city for the repair bill on his car, because it was their fault for having a hole in the road without fixing it or indicating to drivers that it was there. He WON! The city paid in full for fixing his car. Granted it took like 6 monthsto get his money back (he fixed the car right away), but he got all his money back. Give it a try. What you need is to take pictures of the area where the pothole is, showing the hole and the lack of signage, and then take pictures of your car, and take in the repair bill. It may take time, but hey, at least you won't be out the repair money.
*edit* story clarification.
