Shop/or yourself
i did my spark plugs my self...so far thats all ive done to my 02 LX, but this summer i'm getting an intake (AEM or injen) and exhaust. And was wondering should a shop do the work? or should i get it off the internet and put it on myself? I need to get jackstands though for the exhaust...which i dont have

Do it yourself... sears has a 2.25 ton hydraulic jack and 2 stands set for about $50. I highly recommend you buy it. Its money well spend if you're gonna work on your car. Those are mods you can handle yourself.

Definately DIY. It feels so much better to know you did the work yourself.
As for a jack, you can easily buy one. Or, if you're from a military family, most AF bases (I would assume all military bases though) have an auto hobby shop where you can get a bay with a lift for like $8 an hour.

OK, awesome. thanks for the help. I ordered a AEM CAI off of tornactive.com today so i guess tomorrow or sometime i'll go to sears to find the hydrolic jack and stands, its not a bad deal for $50

That's the smartest thing to do. Installing something on your car makes you feel good, and I think you appreciate it more because you know firsthand the work that went into it.
