2007 Civic Fuse 19 keeps popping [solved]

Hello, I have a 2007 civic that I have owned and been driving for over a year now. I bought it as a donner car, as I had a 2011 civic motor and transmission
I put the motor and transmission in it well over a year ago and have been driving it fine.
i recently have been having issues with some electrical. About a month ago my battery was starting to let go, I could bump start it (it’s a manual), by pushing it and popping the clutch in second gear. Or I would get it boosted by another car.
i changed the battery and I would have no crank, the starter was bad. I was still able to bump start it
afyer about a week of driving like this, the car just turned off while driving to work. I cleaned up all my grounds, and my starter would turn the car over again. But to my luck, it wouldn’t start
I’ve tried hooking up three different computers to the car and none of them can connect to it. My fuel pump isn’t priming and I have no spark
Fuse 19 keeps popping, it’s called a F1 Main fuse, but I’m not too sure what it powers as I can’t find anything about it anywhere I look
Before the car died it was idling rough, jumping from 1000 RPMs to about 1800 RPMs but would drive fine
thinking maybe a computer?
thank you in advance for any advise yoy can give me. I will post back on this forum when I have the issue solved

Need to check what components are on that circuit and disconnect them one by one until the fuse stops blowing

it’s hard to find anything on this fuse. Checked forums, owners manual, online, nothing on the F1 Main fuse
Unplugged everything on the wiring harness that goes to the fuse box and it would still blow. Unplugged it from the computer and it wouldn’t blow. Thinking something on my harness, or the computer is fried. Gonna try a new harness later today

found the issue
bad computer
tested the computer by putting a test light on the fuse that was popping. The light turned on meaning I had a short somewhere. I hooked up another computer and ran the same tests and the light wouldn’t turn on. Took the old computer off and tore it open to find burn marks on the inside

Re: 2007 Civic Fuse 19 keeps popping [solved]

the main question would be:

What did fry it?

that’s what I’m trying to figure out now. I don’t want to throw in a working computer in there and cause it to fry as well. This all started becsuse I changed my battery. Maybe because I ran the car with a bad ground?

Re: 2007 Civic Fuse 19 keeps popping [solved]

bad ground?
Electronics don't like that...
But if you already cleaned and re-tightned them, I would bet there is a short somewhere (electronics don't like that either)
chasing a short is painful work...

You didn't happen to jump start it with the cables backwards, did you?

i very well could have. It’s been a month since the first sign of the issue. It’s hard to recall. I know I didn’t put the battery in backwards. The only thing I can think of is if the new battery fried it. Or a bad ground, or both of those together?
i have two spare computers, I’ll try one today. If it fries itself too I’ll know I got a bigger issue somewhere else
