All the bases are covered here for misfire codes: https://troubleshootmyvehicle.com/ho...isfire-codes-1

You should check your head gasket too as a breached HG is quite common in these engines.

Re: Cylinder misfire

Ok..i read this link that you gave me before. I will check the fuel injectors before anything else and the fuel pump also. My head gasket is about 5 months on the car. The car is not over heating or anything so i dont think head gasket will causing that. Its felpro brand kind of head gasket is on there. Not sure if thats a good brand to use though..

OEM is always recommended. I wouldn't just assume it's the head gasket without hard evidence though.

Re: Cylinder misfire

Its been awhile since i posted a thread about my misfiring problem. I'm still having the check engine light and the codes were there still until about 1:30pm today the check engine light went off so im not sure if it will comes on again because it happens before. I changed plugs, coils and fuel filter. I even did a compression test and i got 185 on each cylind except for cylinder #3 , its reading 180.. I didn't put any oil in the spark plug hole on that cylinder like the book recommend..

there are 2 types of compression tests if the compression is low you put oil in it and go it again and it goes up it is your piston rings if it doesn’t go up it’s one of your valves

Re: Cylinder misfire

I don’t remember the compression that that car is supposed to have but it doesn’t look like that’s to much of a deviation

Re: Cylinder misfire

Service manual says minimum of 135 psi with a maximum variation between cylinders of 28 psi. You are well within spec. 185 psi sounds like a good number as well.

Re: Cylinder misfire

You do not need to do it again. Three cylinders at 185 psi and the fourth at 180 psi is totally healthy.

Re: Cylinder misfire

Its not cylinder 4 at 180,its cylinder 3 at 180 and all the others at 180, But ok.tge check engine light came back after started the car. I have a little rough idle from the codes came on for the misfiring..im the thinking of changing the injectors. To see if that will solve the problem?

Re: Cylinder misfire

I was thinking that but i dont see where i can take apart the coil pack wires only...its a whole long bunch of wire together for injectors ,coil packs, sensors and other stuff.

Re: Cylinder misfire

I can surely do that but, thats another thing because I'm not sure where the wire maybe bad..i can surely get the ends that goes to the coil packs online and splice them bro.

Re: Cylinder misfire

So lets give an update on my issues that i was having with my cylinder misfiring from 1-4. I changed spark pugs, coil packs, fuel filter and nothing seem to change. I start the car one day and while its idling, i tried the method that guys use by unplugging the wires from the coil pack to see the difference the engine will made. I did that with injectors and i noticed the engine did made a difference on cylinder#1 but not much different on the rest of the cylinders so decided to change the injectors and i did replaced them today just after work and scanned the system again,to my surprise, the codes disappear only left codes for down stream o2 sensor and Idle air temp sensor. I erased all those codes, took the car for a 3-4 miles drive and everything seem to be working fine..no more rough idling with the engine nor steering vibration..thamks for all the advice from you guys.
and i forgot, the injectors are remanufactured i got from Amazon.
