So last week Saturday i noticed my check engine light giving me 3 codes for misfire from cylinder 2 to 4. I went to the junkyard and got me 4 ignition coil ftom a car like my 02 civic amd put them in. Clear the codes after and everything went fine until this afternoon the check engine light showing the same thing agai. My plugs are about 4 months old since i installed them so what could causing me to have this issue?
I replaced the plugs of the same kind that I took out .its dense that was in it when I replaced them and the parts store said it's those it required.

Reason: More informations
It might be to your benefit to look on you tube for some videos on testing coil packs. It would be nice to know if yours are causing the misfire or not.
Ok. I came up with this idea just now..i started the car and while it is running, i unplugged the wire from each coil pack and the engine did made changes for each of them. The idling changes each time i unplugged them..
I dont know what to think at this time.. I dont know the plugs are new , about 3 to 4 months old. I dont see any cuts on the plug wires.. I dont know if i should get plugs from the dealership and try or even though the coil packs didn't show any signs of them being faulty if i should still change them since i ordered a set of new once.?
No lie, I gap plugs bu putting it in a spark plug socket attached to a socket extension and rolling the (ground) electrode on a block of wood while putting some pressure on it. Roll a little bit, check gap. Repeat if necessary
My EGR is valve is fine.. I replaced the gasket about a month now so i cleaned it before i put it back in place..
Not talking about the EGR valve. There are runners in the intake manifold, this is how the gasses get back into the intake. They tend to clog from carbon build up causing misfire codes.
I took it to the dealership today and they said that they dont see anything wrong. No fault codes, fuel pump was ok,everything was reading fine and the diagnostic machine except for the spark plugs thats in there thats not the right once but its the same denso brand that honda use. They said it might be bad fuel in the tank so i put some Sea foam in the tank. I will change my gas station because they told me to stay away from the cheap gas stations.

Re: Cylinder misfire
Just because it's a Denso spark plug doesn't mean it's the right one. Denso probably makes a hundred different spark plugs. Put the Denso plugs with the correct part number in.
Yeah. That's why i ordered from the dealership yesterday
I should pick them up today . Its $ 20 for one of each. I couldn't believe it when I heard the price .
Dealer is usually more expensive. Looks like you can get the stock NGK ones on Amazon for $11 each or a parts store for $14 each. I have heard there are lots of knock-offs though so from the dealer is probably safest.
ahhh hate to ask perhaps I missed it... did you figure out that the plugs indeed caused the misfire. Dealer states there was no misfire. I am confused. Oh well. Glad you got it worked out.

Hey, i just go ahead and bought them from the dealership..the only difference on the plugs are that the once that i bought ftom advance Auto are that they have one letter beside the the 3 or 2 once on the plug and they made in the US and the once from the dealership have m11 on them and they were made in Japan..the light came this morning again before i replace the plugs. I'm going to scan it to see if its the same misfire codes.my catalyst converter need to change so it triggers the check engine light sometimes.
So I'm still having the codes coming up in the system for cilynder misfire 2-4. I got the original plugs from the dealership and i changed the coil packs and I'm still have the issue. The dealer checked for possible cause and they said that the only thing they could say causing the problem is bad gas so i put a bottle of seafoam in the tank and change where i buy gas and i clear the codes and two days later it came back.i dont know what else to do.any suggestions ?

Tell me what rpm it misfires, how long ago you changed your transmission fluid (it’s relevant), what gas you use, and what your batteries CCA( cold cranking amp) and CA(cranking amps) and if auto or manual, I have a turbo one that used to misfire I have been tweeking it for 2 years here is a pic
