Headlights flicker with RPM change

Cool Headlights flicker with RPM change
Hi guys title says it all. They don't completely go dark but dim as engine speed changes. The dealer said that the alternator is fine and the battery has been replaced with the same result. Seems like some kind of voltage regulator or something like that. what do you think?

Voltage regulator is part of the alternator. Do they dim enough where it's really noticeable?

ELD also has a role in voltage regulation, as well. I couldn't tell you how that thing works. I had my 2002's ELD start to go, and cause a bunch of other codes to be thrown, but one was definitely a P1298. I replaced the ELD (like a $20 part and takes 10 minutes), reset codes, and the other seemingly random codes went away.

A bit of dimming under low load/low RPM is normal.

yes, at idle they don't dim. if I just touch the accelerator it's noticeable even in park.

Electronic load detector. Basically it determines how much electrical demand there is and can control the alternator based on that info.

Im having the same issue. I’ve yet to replace the ELD or the alternator. I do have a new battery. I’ll try those remedies and let you know.

So I haven’t changed out the ELD or alt yet but my issue has gone away. Lol
