Hi

Have a 95 civic type S, bought a few weeks ago from arnold clark. I noticed when driving with no other cars on the road that the headlights were dimming at what seemed like random intervals. After a bit of reading it seemed that it might be a problem with the alternator or battery, they took it back in and checked it only to conirm that the charge was fine?

Another strange thing is that when I looked in the spare tyre compartment it contained the small interior lamp for the boot? I plugged this back into the connector that was hanging out of the hole and it works. Why would someone take this lamp unit out?

Any help appreciated.

maybe they didnt want light in the trunk at night? lol idk. for the headlights, its normal for them to dim when using accessories since the civic alternator is so weak to start with <70 amps. but if it is excessive, i would check your factory ground points and wires, and maybe think about buying or making a whole new wire harness for the headlights that uses a new relay and draws power directly from the battery with larger gauge wiring.
