What, Besides the Alternator, Can Cause Pulsing Headlights?
What, Besides the Alternator, Can Cause Pulsing Headlights?
When I first start my 05 Civic EX, especially in the cold, the headlights and the dome light pulse significantly, seemingly on rhythm. I have read that this can be caused by a bad alternator. Is there anything else that can potentially cause this before I look at replacing the alternator?

Stock sound system? Any big electronic upgrades done? Could possibly be an overactive/faulty ELD (I know when the ELD in my 2002 went bad, other codes started popping up and went away when I replaced it)

I do have some issues with the power outlet. Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. I have to wiggle whatever is plugged into it for it to work. Do you think that could be a factor here?

since this is not a "how to DIY" article, moving out of the DIY section to the correct section of the forums.

Check all your ground wires. Make sure you have a good solid clean connection.
You could be getting interference from something also like a charging or audio cable.
