Woa, for a second there I thought he said.....where IS FSK mall? I almost had a heart attack. How could someone from Frederick not know where FSK mall is? (if you wanna call it a mall at all!) Whatever you decided is cool with me. I'll let you know when I know! Does anyone know where Thrashn's been? I haven't seen him on here in like forever!
And where the heck is Rob? He hasn't been on either.

Looks like we can all meet at the mall, then drive to a park for the BBQ, if that's cool with everyone. The wife got in touch with the people from Forge Park, and it doesn't look like it's very big. I'm checking into "Double-Rock" Park in Parkville now. It should only be about a 15 minute drive from the Towson Mall, and it's WAY bigger. I'll go this afternoon to look at it and a couple of others, and let you know what the deal is tomorrow.
Robb's on vacation in North Carolina (my home state), so I guess I'm kinda pickin' up for my boy while he's gone. Any questions, HOLLAATCHABOY!

Double Rock Park is a possibility. I spoke with the Park officials this morning. Vizyun and I will go check it out this afternoon and let you know whats up. I have to submit the request to reserve the park in writing which I'd like to send over asap. I need to let them know if there will be any alcoholic beverages being served. I know some will probably want to bring there own. If there are alcoholic beverages being served, they will have police routinely checking the area. Just an Fyi!!! You all let me know what you'd like to do.

great work Vizyun and Klassy1! i think alcoholic beverages are not exactly a good thing to have at a car meet....i mean, even if all of us are responsible and not dumb enough to drink and drive, which i think we all are, (in which case whats the point of having alcohol anyway??) besides many of us (including myself) are underage and i know that i personally would rather not have po-po's walking around, etc...just my $0.02

I tend to agree. Considering that we do have some people who are under 18, let alone 21, it's probably best that we just say there won't be any alcohol. I think it would be better for all involved. SO NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES PRESENT. PERIOD. YOU WANNA DRINK, DRINK WHEN YOU LEAVE THE PARK. Just so everyone knows.

Update: Klassy1 and I have come to a couple of consensuses; we figure our best bet is a park with plenty of parking, a couple of grills, maybe some room to run around in case we get antsy, a place to potty
, for the ladies, and a PAVILION since it's so far ahead, and there is ALWAYS the chance that it might sprinkle or even be WAY too sunny, so it'd be nice to have something to give shelter or shade. We visited HONEYGO park yesterday, and it has all these things. However, it is kinda in the cut of a residential area, so I'm not sure how loud we'd be able to bump our systems, let alone any intense revving (as if that's necessary). There are 2 other parks that may be options. One is Double-Rock Park (but it doesn't have any pavilions available that day, and I haven't seen it yet), and the other is in Timonium (just North of Towson Mall, haven't seen it yet either). Klassy1 and I will be visiting these two this weekend, since reservations for these parks are going FAST. In addition, it's going to cost Klassy and I $50 - $150 to reserve this, so YOU PEOPLE HAD BETTER MAKE IT WORTH IT j/k. We do need to get our reservation in soon, though, so we'll have the word for you by Monday. For everyone that's coming, BRING FRIENDS, BRING FOOD, BRING FUN. Honeygo park has a sand volleyball court, so maybe that's an option as well. We can always bring a Boombox and some tunes, so it's got potential. So that's the WORD!

sounds like you two have been busy
this is good news, that park w/ the V-Ball court sounds cool. also, do you need to have any monetary contributions in an effort to reimburse you for the cost of reservations? can't wait to hear what else you find about those other parks!

Naw, the wife and I will cover the cost of the park. Call it our little contribution.
The only thing we ask is that you don't get upset when we consume an A$$LOAD of food at the BBQ!

Vizyun and I will cover the cost of reserving the park. Our treat to you guys. We just need you guys to start working on a food list, if someone would like to bring a volleyball, (there's a sand volleyball court at the park), there's also a baseball field if anyone is interested. You guys let us know. I spoke w/ Park Officials at Honeygo Park and basically if we reserve this park we can have it to ourselves for the day. There will be a park official on hand letting people know that it's been reserved.

OK, so plan's so far are as follows: We'll meet up at the Towson Mall early that afternoon, say 1 or 2:00, chill for a while, get acquainted, and then we'll CONVOY over to the park (about a 15 minute ride, almost a perfect straight shot). So far, we've got between 20 and 25 coming for sure, and some people are bringing friends. Let's see, we'll need:
ALOT of meats
Plenty of soda, juices, and H20
Several bags of ice
Styrafoam coolers?
Styrafoam Plates and Cups
Utensils
Condiments (That's salt, pepper, BBQ sauce, etc, for you nasty minded people)
A large radio, that operates on batteries
Some CD's
A volleyball
Lighter Fluid
Charcoal briquettes
Side Items of Choice (I'll leave these to people's discretion and taste)
Napkins like WHOA
Anything you can think of that I haven't
So. . .start chiming in with what you'll bring. Just a note, people who live closer kinda need to volunteer for the more perishable items like meats and ICE.
We'll settle on a Park by Monday.

this is sounding really awesome so far--i'm really gonna try my best to get there (and i might bring a friend if she's interested. shes not much of a car person but i need to get her out into the daylight every once in a while lol)
anyway assuming i can make it, I can bring some of the sweet stuff cuz that's always my favorite part of any meal
oh, and might i suggest paper plates and cups rather than styrafoam....paper is more environment-friendly
i'm excited! yay!

Latest update: We have decided on Honeygo Park as our venue. It has the best appearance, location, and parking, plus it's the cleanest because it's virtually brand new. It's about 15 minutes East of the Towson Mall, so I figure that Robb, Abby, Myself, and Klassy1 (and Ken, if he's cool with it)can meet up early that day to get started at the park. Then, around 11:45am, Robb and I will leave to meet up with everyone at the Towson Mall, as everyone should be arriving there between 12:00 and 1:00, if I'm not mistaken. Around 1:00, we'll all leave from there and convoy to the park. I'll hook up a map from the mall to the park in case anyone gets there late. Couple of things:
1.) Cooking. There are 2 grills at the park, so we'll have no problem with space and what not, but we haven't decided who will actually do the cooking yet. Robb, Kimela suggested that she and Abby hook up some things (I told her about the Ka-bobs Abby made when I came by to clear my headlights, and she liked her instantly
). Give me a call and let me know!2.) Identification. Not too many people on here know each other's names, and even fewer people know faces. I want everyone to know at least the screen names of the people they're talking to at the BBQ, but I don't wanna do anything corny like name tags. I thought about it, and the best idea I could come up with is that, if you're a member, you can buy a cheap, plain white or grey T-shirt, and put your screen-name on it. That's what I'm going to do, so the guy with the white T-shirt with the pretty "VIZYUN" design will be me. If you guys want, you can follow suit. I figure this will be the easiest way, and pretty cheap too. Just an idea, let me know what you think. Maybe we'll give away a prize for the best shirt or something. (Best Buy Gift Certificate?)
3.) Activities. There is a volleyball court there, and a baseball field (though I doubt we'll have enough equipment for baseball), and the wife and I figure we'll buy some decks of cards or something. Any other suggestions or things you want to bring would be great.
4. ) Food. It seems that alot of people have been e-mailing Klassy1 with "Whatever you want me to bring, just let me know!" We appreciate you being willing to help, so Robb, if you could send Klassy1 or myself your e-mail list of participants, she'll just start assigning things so people know WELL in advance. No excuses then, right?

5.) Music. Everyone has their own taste. You're free to bring whatever tapes and CD's you want, but do so at your OWN RISK! No one's DJing full time, and if something gets scratched or lost, I'm not replacing it. I'm POOR!!!

This is coming together very well. Robb, PM me or something. I'd like to get together with you and Ken to show you guys where the park is, and discuss the day's activities and whatnot. Waiting to hear from you!
