are you SURE about that??? i had my STOCK 2001 (auto) civic ex coupe on cruise control at 126 mph for a few minutes on a highway a couple years ago. havent gone taht fast since cuz it takes too long to get goin that fast and im too scared now (2 speeding tickets later) but i can EASILY hit 115 now. so i dont know what you are talking about "mr honda"

lx/dx limited to 112mph or 115mph depending on date built.
ex/si not limited at all however ex is limited by hp/drag and so is the si unless you have enough power like i did to get it to redline limited

Do any of you notice you drive a Civic? Also you morons that want to go 120 mph keep pushing your car. If by chance you blow a tire or lose control. You will have good chance at dying. So basically who cares.

After 90mph, the car just doesn't feel right. I've never taken it above 100mph and don't plan to. But the rare times that I go fast, it's only for a few seconds. Pushing past 80 is gonna cause engine problems eventually.
my best is 135mph and i had a friend with me at the time, but i usely hit 125-130 with no problem. of corse it took me a while befor i got up to 135 but it was like 4am and there i was on the highway75 with my friend, and very lil cars on going a buck35. it was fun as hell, untill i got lost...
This is the dumbest thread. But what the heck..
I hit close to 140mph on 8psi of boost on a EX. There is something called a rev limiter and it was damn close. I was running against a modded GT at night on the highway (bad, dont try this at home). At 80mph he hit his gas. I had to catch him and run him down. I started to pull on him at about 110mph. By 140 he was several cars back. He pulled me over to see hwat my civic had. I told him a cold air intake and good header and exhaust.

you have to reprogram your ecu. just one problem about that. your car can't go more than 2 mph over that number anyway.

i have an automatic LX sedan, and i used to test my speed between two exits on the highway where you can see any cops or other cars for miles! i've hit 120, and then slowed down. can't do it anymore. they repaved it, and now it's bumpier than hell!

Let me ask all you all something. I'm 28 years old and have been studying hondas since I was 21. Do yall really think your engines put out the same amount of horse power. I'm not talking about EX, LX, and DX. I'M talking about the building of the engines. Those engines are rated at 127hp EX, 117 HX, and 115 DX, LX based on an average. Those engines are base tested and the say this putting out 5-10 more and this is puting out less. They combine numbers and get an average. I believe the guy who hit 150. I own a 2001 lx sedan its governed at 113-115, but I hit that governor hard. at 4800 rpms in 5th gear. I also own a 2004 ex sedan and I got up to 143mph and I didn't hit my governor. I believe Honda governs so many hondas a year and some they don't. I was lucky to get a EX that wasn't governed. But the LX pisses me of be cause I feel so much power. I'm no trying to be a ***** about this top speed issue. I just stating the facts.
