Done it. Just reduces the slack on the cable, doesn't make you any faster or anything. TB = throttle body.

it eliminates any play your gas pedal has. It really doesnt make a difference in anything. the TB (throttle body) is what the gas pedal is connected to, between the intake and intake manifold.

TB, throttle body. the gas pedal is connected to a cable that connects to the throttle body. depending on how much you push the pedal (or pull the cable) determines how wide a butterfly valve inside of it opens.

that flat circle inside of the throttle body is the butterfly valve. when it is opened more, it allows more air to flow through. more air means more gas is injected, more air and more gas = more power, thus when you push the pedal to the floor, you go faster.

i really like this mod. it's easy to do and pretty effective. i say do it. it takes 5 minutes if that.

I did it too. Make sure that nut is really really tight, or it'll slip a bit.

its not hard at all, you only need one adjustible wrench. Don't touch the idle cable. You'll know which is the throttle cable its the one that lets you rev from under the hood. Just losen the nut, then pull the cable as tight as you want it, then tighten the nut.

doesnt do anything but gets rid of the slack in the pedal so that it gives gas right when you press it. not like 2 inches after pressing it.

stock setting blows, imo. when you push the pedal to the floor, it doesn't seem to be at wide open throttle. just pull a little bit of the cable and tighten it. if you over tighten it, it will just make your idle higher, you can always give it more slack again. it's a piece of cake. dude you're in mission viejo? i could do it for you haha, i'm like 5 minutes away in RSM

be very careful though! that locknut moves very easy and when you tighten the other nut it may move the lock nut a little which DOES affect the tension of the cable. I found out because i could get upto 25....and take my foot off the gas and keep goin 25 and it would speed up....you just want the 2 pieces to touch, not to push....you should be able to pull the black one back....let it go and it shouldnt move the brass piece at all...it also redlines higher after i finished....it'll go upto 7200 now instead of automatically cutting off at 6800.... just FYI guys...also i have an 02 ex auto

The reason the stock pedal doesnt feel WOT is because it isnt. To properly get to WOT, DO NOT ADJUST THE CABLE. I wouldnt touch that myself. There is another way to achieve it, and much safer to do, so you dont not tighten something too much or break something.

Here are the steps:
1)Open your drivers side car door.
2)look under the gas pedal.
3)You may have to pull the carpet down under the gas pedal, but there will be a large black piece that the gas pedal sits on when you push the pedal down all the way.
4)Grab a socket that will fit over the bolt holding it on. If I remember correct, there is only 1.
5)Loosen it, take it off, and if you happen to see others, get them (I did this 3 years ago)
6)the black piece should be loose, take it out, throw it somewhere incase you feel like ever putting it on (yeah right)
6) Put the carpet back on
7)enjoy the new performance.

I would consider this more the proper way to do it. This way you WILL achieve WOT, and nothing was altered in the engine. You will not have too little or too much to reach WOT. This should take you all of but 3 minutes to do, and achieve the same if not more Throttle. It keeps the pedal about 3 inches off the ground. Enjoy, please try it this way, and you will figure it out quick, and enjoy it. The only difference is that I have to press the gas pedal down more, but it seems to be perfect for me, there is no prob with that whatsoever. DO NOT ALSO TIGHTEN THE THROTTLE CABLE D.I.Y. IN CONJUNCTION WITH THIS, OR YOU WILL HAVE A BROKEN CABLE.

This also works with most every car there is. I know saturn and some trucks have one. My friend with a saturn told me about this when I got my car.

Duh, youre not getting more HP out of it. If you did what I typed about the black piece, than you might not be pressing down all the way. Slam your gas to the floor till you cant possibly get it any more down, and you will definately notice a nice difference. Just from the sound you can tell more air is coming in. the black piece is what keeps the slack from WOT, no need for tightening anything. as soon as that piece is gone (3 minutes) you will be able to reach its full crappy potential.

I definitely prefer that one, never touch engine's part and gain performance is the best diy forever. Thx for your input 2k1civic17"Gabe!

I would not remove the pedal guard. I have reached 100% throttle just by tightening the cable a little (still has slack).
