B18a1 build tensioner issues
B18a1 build tensioner issues
So I've built my B18 A1 motor with all the upgrades you can think of including Hypertech dual valve springs which Maybe part of my issue I'm not sure I have the motors all done complete installed set the timing to start the motor fine at idle I start to drive when I get on the gas tensioner comes loose every time even after being tightened and torqued to spec it still comes loose every time is there a remedy or aftermarket upgraded tensioner pulley spring to not let it come loose need some help here
Re: B18a1 build tensioner issues
Okay so by loose I mean the belt slack... the tensioner spring on it stretches the spring out Beyond its capabilities to where it's no longer spring and the bolt it doesn't come loose but but the tensioner pulley shifts even though the bolt still torque to spec I've checked the bolt after it's still torque to 40 yet the tensioner slides which loosens the belt giving too much slack witch in turn leads to jumping timing

Try contacting the company that made the performance parts you put on and see what they suggest.
