those are very helpful, except, do you have a picture of the hole in the firewall from farther back? it's hard for me to tell where that is in relation to everything else

diz.. i'm sorry.. i thought that if i said it was for the DX.. that it would be for the DX..

chuck... next time i nab a digital camera, i'll take a pic from further back.. but for now.. if you remove the resonator, which is the big black thing missing from under the hood int he first pic.. you'll be able to see what is visible in the pic.

really depends on what you are planning to do with the power.. let's say you are powering an amp.. 8 gauge will be sufficient, but for a high powered amp or running a line for more than one amp, 4 gauge is the thinnest you should go.

as for say.. neons or strobe lights.. they would definitely not need something as thick..

to connect it to the battery, i would sugest getting a better quality battery terminal. at the present time, i have no need to get one myself, since i'm only powering one amplifier, one set of strobe lights, and a three strobes from it... oh.. and a cooling fan for the amp..

if you don't take my suggestion, you'll notice a nut/bolt combination that you can loop a ring terminal onto, obviously using the proper sized terminal.

like i said im a newbie, so im guessing by that, u mean... lift up the redd plastic cover on the positive side of the battery, unscrew the nut/bolt, and place a ring terminal ( seen one, never used it ) onto the screw part of the screw, then screw it back in. then slap on an inline fuse, and the wire going into the ring terminal will get a positive charge? Also, do i have to discon the battery to do this, and if so, how do i do that. Sorry for being a n00b, but we all are in the beginning. Thanks,

oh, and one other thing, if som1 is a true newbie, they will not find ur topic, cause #1 they wont think they are a n00b, or wont know what one is. #2 newbies dont know to search. #3 newbies like me need more info than what u gave, u can show use the hole in the firewall, but we need to know how to get through, u can show us where to install switches, but newbs need to know where to get switches, and how to wire to them, and i need to know what to use to cut the dash percisley to get the switch in!!!

In short, for this to be real newbie help, it should always sit up top, and should explain stuff more in def, and keep using many pics like it already does!!!!!

drew.. i'd rather help by using a case-by-case method. everybody has their own way of interpretting information and i'd much rather address each person individually, since it will end up that way no matter what i put up here.

as for using ring terminals.. yep.. you pop the red cover, take the nut/bolt off place the ring terminal(s)onto the bolt and screw the nut back on. it's not necessary to remove the negative terminal from the battery as long as you ensure that the fuse is not in the fuseholder.
