Metra Wiring Harness
I am planning on buying my wiring harness and dash kit today, but I wanted to make sure I am getting the correct one. I went to PartsExpress.com and used the Metra Kit Wizard and put in my Make, Model, and Year and it gives me this wiring harness to use:

It says 1998 and up so I am a little suspicious. Is this the correct one? Let me know ASAP because I have them in my shopping cart, ready to sumbit my CC info. thanks.

I have nothing so far. The first thing I am buying is the HU. It will be running my factory speakers for a few weeks until I save up enough for new speakers and an amp.
HU: Kenwood eXcelon - KDC-X917
Speakers (front): Kenwood eXcelon - KFC-XR60P
Speakers (rear): Kenwood eXcelon - KFC-XR600
Amp: I have a few ideas, but nothing for certain. any suggestions are welcome.
The low end will be handled later.

I was going to go all Kenwood eXcelon (even the subs) but it is way too expensive. The amps are the worst part. I was thinking of some Alpine V12's. what do you think?
btw, for a sub, I am leaning towards the RF Power HX2 12"

Alpine amps are pretty.. pretty much all midrange priced amp are the same.. you'll never notice any sound didfferences except with power differences.. so it's good.

good, that brings the total to right under $600 for the speakers and amp. not bad huh?
now I just need to get wire. 4 guage from the battery back to the trunk should do it right? I think I might install a distribution block now and just leave one side empty until I get my sub amp. what do you think? also, think I should put a .5 farad cap on this amp. would that do anything at all or would it just be a waste of money. I know caps do so you don't need to go into detail about that, but would a small cap be beneficial at all on a full range amp?

get a 1 Farad Lighting audio cap from onlinecarstereo $89 makes it cheaper than most .5 farad caps..has a very low ESR.. better off getting a 4 guage multiple amp wiring kit. for the wiring terminals and Distro...but Please supplement it with better RCA's and you're pretty much set to go.

Online offers a warranty on everything anyways..so tis good.. For a wiring kit.. buy that from a local shop..
