the spec that I put in for another motor was for a race d16 that has a compression ratio of 13.6 to 1 and I got 10.8 to 1 of course that did not factor in the fact that the head had been cold welded but the cold welding I don't think should have bumped the compression up that high but it could have.

cold welding a head is when you use a specail welder or welding technique to fill in part of the combustion chamber. but you can't use a regular welder cause the heat from it will warp the head. machine shop will fill the head and then fly cut it out for the valves to get what ever your desired compression maybe
