Need Some Advice.... Please
Well it final happened. Monday has I was on my way up to see my gf in the morning(it was 9 degrees outside) and my head gasket blew causing my motor to over heat. So now it knocks and vibrates badly. Its dead. My fault should have gotten my temp gauge fixed but now I'm without a ride. I work at a dealership(small one) and there are two cars that I'm looking at for beaters until the civic runs again. First is a 93 Olds Cutlass Supreme, 94k miles for $800. Next is a 93 Dodge Dakota Sport, 144k miles for $1000. Now I need some help deciding which to go with. What would you guys think is more bang for the buck, and I'd like to keep it for awhile as my just in case/beater car so what do you think would be more reliable. Now I do sometimes drive alot in one week so it needs to be able to handle the miles. Please any knowledge and advice on these cars would help me alot. Thanks

The dodge runs like it is brand new but I can't say the same for how it looks. Lets just say it looks its age. I do like the idea of having a small pickup, good to pickup my larger new body parts and such. The olds is looking bad because i just found out is has a nasty oil leak, well its not too bad but hard to fix supposedly and there is a bad water leak some where causing the floor the get soaked when it rains but only if it rain heavily for a long period of time. Yes its the 3800 what a shame. I usually don't worry about miles because I do take care of my cars, don't think I don't cause my civic blew up, well that was kinda my fault for not getting the temp gauge fixed a foreseeing the over heating
but it made it to 221376 miles without a hiccup except normal wear and tear. But for now those are my options for beaters since I can get them cheap at my job, but the Dodge is looking like the winner. I will post pics when and if I get it and of my poor civic sitting dead in front of my house
