Civic SI or Base RSX?

I am debating the two cars... I need some input. The Type S is probably too much for me, so dont suggest it haha. I got qouted 374/mo for the SI w/ 500 down. I know they use same motor... 160 HP... which car is heavier etc? Handling too...? Thanks for your advice....

IMO the RSX is way more attractive as far as exteriors go, but the shifter on the SI is really comfortable and the seats are nice too, they both have many pros and cons

The RSX looks much better, and I'm sure it performs better too. Its a little bit more expensive though.

Personally I would go for a Si hatch, just because it looks unique.

As i said, rsx-s is going to cost me more. DAMN i am loving the SI.. ive been comparing them all night, i just drove the SI twice, and will drive the rsx tommorow. I do not like the quality of the interior on the RSX... way too many hard plastics.. but ill give it a chance.

just get whichever one you want.

test drive, research, do some deep thinking of your own,
because your paying for it, and your gonna be stuck with it.

The seats that are in the SI can be put in the RSX. I have converted to a full ep3 (si) interior in my 01 em2, it isnt that hard. You should be looking at price and performance specs, then mods if you are going to modify it. I think the SI can be had for a lot less than the RSX, simply due to demand. Here are some forums you can go to to look around.

www.ephatch.com - SI

www.clubrsx.com - rsx

at first i never liked the si, but when you look at it they really dont look to bad. rsx isnt bad to but like you said, has a plasticy interior.

the two cars are so even it comes down to which styling you like better, and which interior.......that should be the difference

The base RSX 5-spd and Civic SI are within a few dollars of eachother... although the honda dealer was willing to go below invoice on the si...

The Sis dont sell at all, you should be able to get one well below invoice. Go to another honda dealer and tell them of the other dealers offer. They will beat it. Then go back to original dealer and see if they can beat it. Its an easy way to save 500-700 bucks.
