rear ended my cousins ford truck last night. screwed up my bumber and bent the hood latches, and crap like that.. rode to friends house with big shop lights like spot lights, and fixed it all on the spot. weehhhh, i can still get turbo cause i dont have to fix hood. i am about to the the second boosted one on this thread

Anyways, turbo is going back on as we speak. I'm waiting for a few parts to arrive from sf then I'll start her up.

well, the hood messed up right where the trim from the factory hood goes in the front. i can fix that and then put the trim on it and you will never know. nathan told me that he could fix the spot on my bumper and respray it for me, so i am good. after i hit him, i thought that i was going to have to spend my turbo money on fixing my car. but, i dont. i think that i would have driven around without a bumper or hood if i had too, cause i have my heart set on the SF KIT

I blew a piston in the motor. I am going to pick up a new motor this week and swap it in, running n/a until I get the bottom end and head fully built. I plan to be running 11's next summer

Yes, I'm paying out of pocket for everything. You do realize a slightly used d17 is only going to cost me 550 shipped? That is cheaper than forged pistons plus I can't race during the winter anyways so I'll have the reliability back and I can build the motor that I have sitting out. Oh yes, I will have the only fully built d17 that can run 11s I can't wait.

Sorry to here that andy. What motor are you getting? Thats what I want to do. Get a slightly used ex engine and build it up while driving on my original engine. Did you find an engine already? Where are you getting it from?

If your on I-10 going towards BR, there is a exit for boutte. Im not sure of the exit number. If you take that exit, that will put you on 310. Go down a couple miles and youll cross a bridge. You can either take the exit right after the "hump" or keep going farther and stay to the left. Or you can take the clearview exit on I-10 go down clearview, go over the huey P, and contiune on Hwy 90. Luling is in St. Clarles parish. Is 30-40 minutes from N.O., depending on traffic.

I'm just going with the d17a1 non vtec like I already have. Once I get my headwork done, vtec wouldn't make a difference anyways. I found it out of a parts store in arizona. If you go to www.car-part.com you can find anything for cheap.

Thats cool. Headwork would make a difference. I mean all the ports and whatnot would have more space to work with. I think vtec would have an extra hard kick. Pretty cool website. Ill probly go there if I cant find anything good, or cheap at my local honda wrecking yard.

Not really. The cam in a vtec doesn't lift the valves to full capacity until the vtec kicks in. With a good cam that has bigger lobes and higher lift valves it doesn't matter. At wot, the cam will be lifting the valves to full capacity anyways.
