Re: 01-02 to 03-05 Gauge Cluster Swap: DONE! Pics inside w/ Pin removing FAQ & Video
FINALLY I'm able to post in this thread again...Tried a few times over the last months but it kept saying I didn't have permission to post in my own thread
Thanks for fixing it whoever did
Anyways, Glad to see the thread is still helping people. I still have my 'vic and the cluster I installed at the beginning of the thread...I don't know if I'll ever be able to get rid of this car. I've thought about moving on a few times, but for the most part this car has been reliable as hell and I can't argue with that

In my opinion, this is one of the truly great threads in the sites history

Hello everybody have a quick question about this swap.I just received my new cluster out of a 2004 civic lx (blue one)led..Im swapping into my 2005 civic vp no tach.I printed out the diagrams and were matching the wires on my paper checking with connector to see if it all matched before i go and start rewiring. My problem is theres an extra wire in the new cluster 2004 lx.on the bottom of green plug theres a white/blue after the blue/red and before blue/yellow.what is this white/blue wire??????and if it helps the new cluster is cdm and is in kmh going into my usdm civic.

in canada it could also be for the low washer fluid light that usdm cluster/cars do not have. nope guess not, elec manual says its canada wire for headlights. more than likely DRL (daytime running lights) related, which again usdm cars do not come with. the canada clusters have a DRL icon light to show whether the system is working. i bet thats what your wire is for.

Thanks for the replys guys.I guess well find out tommorow when i do the swap ive done my homework got the tools this should be fairly easy.Since my car is not gonna have a wire for that spot guess it doesnt matter whatever light stays on is gonna be that wire.unless i ground it would that turn off the mystery icon if there is one?

Yea sorry I was wrong. I was just guessing as to something the vp cluster wouldnt have. I was going to swap the blue cluster in, but I just got the bezel with gauge pods in it instead.

i think the only light that comes on by leaving the wire disconnected is the abs. the washer fluid, side srs, and drl should stay off without doing anything. just tape up the wire. if it does come on for some reason, then you can try grounding it.

01-05 civic dx/vp only came with basic clusters (no tach), but the 01-02 lx/ex clusters with tach should be a direct swap just plug it in. the 03-05 lx/ex fancy led clusters (red or blue rings) need rewiring and this is what the thread here is about to repin the connectors to a new config.

the white/red wires.. does pin 15 on green get moved to pin 17 on green? and if so what happens to pin 1 on the blue vp connector? because it doesnt have a pair on the blue ex connector

Ok this is one of the older threads in the world.
Here is the senario:
I got jerked and bought a 2000 honda civic lx 4 door auto matic
97k and not that rusted for under 2400
Had hell with it....welll not really i did a minor tune up and gotta change the lower 02 sensor.
The problem is im missing the glass/plastic cover over the odometer.
I can get a new glass only for 40 from the dealer.
I searched this forum for 2 hours.
Are there clips that i have to buy or any other parts, because the plastic peice is missing.
Anybody that can answer me will get a like.
Also is there a diy video, as i cant find one?
Concepttheman@gmail.com
Thanks!!!

Hi Guys,
I known this is a very old post..but it's still ROCK...
I just did a swapped from 2004 sedan lx cluster to my 2005 sedan vp (usa). I still have one wiring left afterward (i believe it's a red/white (or white/red)). Everythings in perfect lite-up..accept the door open indicator...is the leftover suppose to be the door open indicator? do you guys know which pin for the door indicator? I cannt find it from the diagram...any suggestion?
Thanks

The answer was posted earlier in this thread, but there's the link again. Red/White goes to fuse #9 under the hood...find what that fuse controls, and you have your answer.

^ OPDS unit for side-airbag (in the seat). and i think only the EX had the "side-srs" indicator light on the cluster.
Re: 01-02 to 03-05 Gauge Cluster Swap: DONE! Pics inside w/ Pin removing FAQ & Video
I did an 02 EX coupe to 05 EX coupe cluster swap. I have side airbags but the new cluster doesn't. My original cluster was very boring and found a nicer 02 cluster that matched in mileage so I swapped that in two years ago. That cluster did not have side srs either.
So my post is because with the new cluster swap, the SRS is lit. I assumed because the donor car had a head on collision. So I did the SRS reset (took me 4 times but got it.) Started the car this morning, no light. Drove 0.1 miles and it came back on. 4 restarts - still on.
After work I checked the main SRS fuse under the dash but it is good. I have not checked the side srs fuse but since it is not the one feeding the light I skipped it for now.
Since the cluster was the variable, I posted here first. I bought green and blue clips and did a pin by pin swap. I did not pull the battery cable but I was very careful. Nothing is blown or else is effected. Any ideas?
TIA
