01-02 to 03-05 Gauge Cluster Swap: DONE! Pics inside w/ Pin removing FAQ & Video
Re: 01-03 to 04-05 Gauge Cluster Swap: DONE! Pics inside w/ Pin removing FAQ & Video
Urggghh.. where can I find an 03-05 cluster in Canada?
From what I've read, it's only the SI sedans and some sort of coupes in Canada that have the updated ones... which makes it even more difficult to find.
Especially for a manual.
Especially in KMs instead of Miles.
My friend bought an 05 SI sedan yesterday and the gauge cluster in it is drool worthy.
What trims + years should I be looking for in order to get the updated gauge cluster (red or blue, I really care.)? I've got an 02 LX coupe.

For those that might want one but don't want to mod your stock wiring.
I have one 04-05 blue cluster for sale PRE-WIRED. This means NO MODs. Unplug your old cluster .. plug in your new one. Plug and play. Stock wiring. Done.

check ebay for new led canadian clusters. i always see a few. search for "04 civic cluster" and search thru the matches.
Re: 01-03 to 04-05 Gauge Cluster Swap: DONE! Pics inside w/ Pin removing FAQ & Video
a cluster from an SI (or SIR as we call them here) wouldn't fit, would it?
I know it's got a similar center stack (aside from the shifter) but I dunno if the cluster is the same shape.

no. completely different plugs, wiring, and shape. they are not even that great, just a white face and red bulb backlighting.
Re: 01-03 to 04-05 Gauge Cluster Swap: DONE! Pics inside w/ Pin removing FAQ & Video
Yeah I didn't think they would fit. I was just wondering because on eBay most of the ones in KM/H are SI/SIR clusters.
I put an ad up on Kijiji looking for wrecked 03-05 Civics being parted out. There is an 01 on there being parted out and not much else at the moment...

Okay, I just got my 03 Civic Si (EX in US) cluster, i'm swapping it into an 05 Civic SE (DX in US) I'm assuming i can follow the pin swap and this will work, i'm just hoping that the pin colours are the same. Can anyone confirm this coming from an 05 civic dx or se?
let me know
Thanks

it should be, theres only two styles of cluster old (bulb) and new (LED). the canada versions just have kph instead of mph. and a few extra icons. if you have trouble, i can check the wire diagrams for those things like drl and washer fluid lights.
Re: 01-03 to 04-05 Gauge Cluster Swap: DONE! Pics inside w/ Pin removing FAQ & Video
Okay so here's how it went, i started taking the dash a part, took out the cluster and looked at the connectors:
On the Honda Civic 05 SE Canadian - DX US Cluster
All pins and colours matched on the GREEN Connector EXCEPT I HAD THESE EXTRA
In Location #1 - RED with WHITE STRIPE
in Location #13 -WHITE with BLUE STRIPE
All pins and colours matched on the BLUE Connecter EXCEPT I HAD ONE EXTRA
In Location #18 - BLUE with RED STRIPE
CAN Someone Figure out where these Go in the 03 Civic Si (US EX)Cluster
or tell me what they are.
I practice some pin popping and i got that down, but I didn't want to move any further without finding out what these are.
So some help thanks in advance!

Re: 01-03 to 04-05 Gauge Cluster Swap: DONE! Pics inside w/ Pin removing FAQ & Video
red/wht (gauges and indicators)
wht/blu (headlights)
blu/red is interesting, youre not supposed to have a wire there for 03-05 dx, but 01-02 dx it shows a wire in that spot for ABS.
check the wire diagram pinouts to see where they move to. for the green connector, red/wht is number 1 on your plug and needs to be moved to number 10, still on the green plug. number 13 wht/blu stays in the same spot on the green connector! do not move it.
for the blue connector, number 18 blu/red ABS gets moved to number 14 on the GREEN plug, as the diagram shows. i think you just missed this one.

Thanks for the quick reply, I got the two figured out, so if number 1, red/white on my current connecters is gauage indicator, but according to the diagram red/white is not even on the EX Clsuter anywhere. how did you know to move it from number 1 to number 10?

those old diagrams posted here were not made for canadian civics, which have extra wires for different things you guys have that we dont. i am looking at the honda electrical manual to find the right info.

i was wondering when you would ask, since its another canada-only wire (for headlights). red/grn is number 9 in the blue plug (this would have been red/yel as the diagram shows IF you had an 01-03 civic dx and not 04-05 civic dx). this wire needs to be moved to number 1 on the blue connector. your red/grn wire is the same as the red/yel wire in the diagrams, except it has a different function.

Perfect!! will try this out BTW i did the swap in 30 Mins! ONLY two issues,
1) HIGH BEAM INDICATOR - Doesn't come on
2) ABS - is always on
any ideas are solutions? I have doulbe checked and recheck the wires twice, and all connection is good

try swaping the 2 wires for the LED hibeam lite. gearbox can tell u which 2. LED's are plolarity sensitive so they only work the right way not any way like bulbs do.
2nd does your car have ABS? if not then theres no wire to hook up and ABS will be on due to that open. u can get another wire and GND it on the ABS pin or if u dont have ABS u can get a non ABS cluster. (like the one triz is re-selling) and trade me for the ABS one.

nice work. the abs yeah, you dont have it on a DX so the car thinks there is a problem. i dont know what you can do, the easiest would be gently peel off the top part of the gauge face and put a piece of black electrical tape behind the icon to block the light. im not sure if the abs wire needs +12v or ground to turn off. or like diemaster says look for an LX cluster which looks the same but has no abs light.

also as a side note, those new clusters have dual dimmer memory. it should be full bright with the lights off and car running (during the day), and at least one notch dimmer when the park lights are on. you can turn the dimmer **** to set it and it will remember the brightness for each mode (day/night)
Re: 01-03 to 04-05 Gauge Cluster Swap: DONE! Pics inside w/ Pin removing FAQ & Video
Yeah I figured the dual dimmer on the cluster saw it in earlier post. How ever any idea which wire is the abs on the dx 05 I know on the past it was states as blue red which I have even tho my car has no abs

hahha thanks DieMaster, i just find it odd that i doo have the Blue/RED Stripe wire, (which is ABS) according to the schematics that gearbox listed earlier in the post, but yet my DX (SE Canadain) doesn't even have ABS.
