Can someone confirm the mileage is stored in the gauge and not the ECU.

I have a 2005 LX gauge waiting to be installed in my 04 VP but I am concerned about keeping the correct mileage.

If it is in the gauge can it be flashed? Where would you have it done?

its in the cluster rom chip. swapping cluster will change mileage to new one. i know a place, ill try and find the link. you need to have some proof tho and i havent looked into it yet. i need to advance mine about 30k lol

Got the gauges in...couldnt take pics digital camera is broken ahha....I have to say this is the best modd i have done so far lol These gauges are so so "PRETTY" its the attention point when people look in the car(probably because my old gauges never worked and always stayed on trip88888888... I have the coupe version "white and red" Once you know how to get the pins out its easy..i wired them up and rechecked them in about 15-30 minutes tops. And my mileage now says "3" hahahahaahaahahah

Most of the time, a lot cheaper then the blue ones. And a lot more common. I wouldn't pay more then 75-100 for a coupe (red) cluster.


My best advice is check ebay, and check it often. That's how I picked these up for only 60 ish bucks or so.

I have side airbags in my civic and the cluster im lookin to get came from a civic without side air bags is that gonna cause a problem with the swap??

I think I'm all set just are the wiring layouts the same one the 2003 harnesses whether it's a EX or LX? and is there going to be any wires missing or left out in the LX?

Got my gauges in tonight they look amazing just a few BIG problems My gas gauge wont wokr i think i got the yllow and blk wires mixed and my airbag light is on and my radio don't work now!!! argg

other than that they look greatt

Well fixed my problems, at least all the major ones got the fuel gauge working and all my lights and radio running. now just that air bag light is on anyone kno how to turn it off???

make sure the right wire is connected and then you may have to get the light reset which is complicated and prolly cant do it yourself

I tried to reset the light and it turned off..for like a minute then it came back on. Could it be because I have side airbags and the car I got it from doesn't??

OK sorry to revive this thread, Im purchasing mani's 04 ex cluster and I have an 04 DX. I read the diy and realized that you have to change pins around because of different model years, but if my car is an 04 would i have to change any pins around?

Yes Sir, I would still like someone else to answer this question. But you still have to do the rewiring even though its the same year ... The 03 04 05 LX/EX cluster has to be rewired to go on a 04 05 DX/VP ...

If you have a DX/VP and want to switch to an LX/EX cluster, you must rewire your pins
