Yeah, but shipping is a killer. I ordered some red ones and never used them. The .12" will fit the 2001 cluster bulbs, but my 2002 bulbs were bigger. They needed the .2" covers.
cool, they are on their way, hopefully i will have them before the meet this saturday in Cali.
dull needles is aight, i can survive.
yeah i did the 2 day ground, 18 bucks in shipping, so i got 2 packs of 10 just in case i bust some of them or come up short for some reason.
it woulda been like 3.40 except with shipping it was 20.64
DAMN!!!!!!!!

c-money, remember to get the gauges to be bright with condoms you'll need to remove the red paint behind the gauge face. Check my DIY if you need info. on how to do it. Since you have an '01, my DIY should work for you.

Now I know why yours came out better and brighter. Your gauge numbers light up white under a normal light. Mine were still a bit darker (almost light brown), which explains the different color of blue I got. You're lucky
Very nice DIY by the way. Final result looks sweet. I'm moving to the first post, so you may want to delete the last post about it afterwards.

to c-money: I hope you realize that just putting condoms on the bulbs won't change the color. You have to acetone the back numbers to get off the colored paint and increase light output like Norrinradd originally did.
I know about the clearing of the gauges of already, LOL
I have had em cleared for about 2 months now, then i just sorta procrastinated about changing the color, so they have been white for awhile. hahaha.................hopefully they will be done for the meet.

gear: I put the face under a florecent light plus the camera always plays tricks.. but the blue on the face is a diffrent blue from the needles.. meaning that there is still some sort of light filter, or just the plastic filtering it out. Also i cleared my faces with nail polish remover and rubbing alcohol.. which took forever but might also yeild better results.
naw, the clearing of the gauges is cake. you can do that in about 2 hours.
then you can choose to do condoms (very easy) or LEDS, which is were you encounter some difficult areas.
mostly sounds hard from this thread only because they were experimenting to find out the best way. if you follow the instructions posted, it shouldnt be as hard since you will know what to do.
they didnt know what to do, so they just posted their success and failures so that they can build on them.

If you just follow the first page, it will seem very easy. C-money is right about the other posts. Everything is organized and proven to work now. You can choose to do the EL cable for backlight, LEDs, or even condoms. Just depends on how much time you're willing to spend.

Someone needs to start keeping track of all the DIY and post them in the DIY page... It seems that there about probebly around 1000 out there but nothing easy to find.
Oh and yes
It is really easy to do.. you just need to spend a little bit of time clearing out the guages. All the other posts were just real time stories
mostly from me.. which now the best possible solution is posted on the front... ENJOY !

Alright 1 More addition from the master Alien
Center Console DIY
1: Remove Centre Console. Look in DIY section. Quite easy, just remove the utility section, unscrew the two screws underneath, and pull the center console out. Unplug all connections.
Once removed it should look something like this if you have installed an aftermarkey deck.
2: Remove the Heat, Fan, and Circulation *****. This is done by just pulling them out.
3: Turn the center console over, you will find screws holding the AC Console, and Heat Controls, these will be the big goldish like screws. Remove them. Now the controls should come out. If not, you have done something wrong. Scroll down if you wish to see what these controls look like. Remove the clear light guides. Remove the screw and unclip it. Remove the bulbs with a flat head screw driver, just turn they will come out.
4: Make 3 LEDs for your AC, Defrost, and Recirculate buttons. Make 4 LEDs for the Heat, Fan, and circulation controls. Wire the LEDs up. Sand down the tips to difuse the light.
5: Insert 2 LEDs per bulb hole in the Heat, Fan, and Circulation controls. Aim them outwards.
6: Make the LEDs stay some how, either by adding enough e-tape so that it will get stuck in the hole, then glue it, or just glue them down.
7: Insert 1 bulb per button for the AC/Defrost/Recirculate Buttons. Again, make them stick some how. The LED should be pretty far in the button so that the light will spread evenly.

8: Remove the Orange filter paper on the back of the console for the Heat, Fan and Circulation. Mine was changed from Orange to Blue so mind the colouring.

9: Now that you have everything inserted, screwed back into place, and wired. Connect the gounds together, and the power together. From there you will splice into the AC/Defrost/Recirculate plug. I do not have a picture of this. But I can tell you that the two wires that you will splice into are both red, they are on the very right side at the end. The one closest to the end is the ground, while the one of the left of it is the power. That might be vise versa
But if it is, dont worry, you can't blow your LEDs.
ENJOY !!!!!!! If you have any question, feel free to PM
Almost forgot.. your final result should look something like this.

Yeah, clearing the needles and putting a coat of the white transparent glass paint will make them brighter. They should also match the gauge lights after that.
