Will my wheels fit?

I just bought 17x7 Konig Holes for a 2001 Honda civic coupe and planned to put 215's on them. But a local tire guy i know says that if i put those on i can't lower my car. Is that true?
I only plan to lower my car between 0.8 in and 1.5 in. Will that cause a probelm>? Will the tires rub anything? THanks for your help.

he is full of crap. they should fit. you MIGHT rub if you go to low, but you can be corrected with slight negative camber. I really don't think you will have a problem going 1.5" down, as long as that is a 1.5" settled.

Ok. I was thinking of getting koni yellows with either eibach prokit or eibach sportlines( I'd get a camber kit if i got the sportlines just in case). That should be cool right.

you will never rub with prokit drop.
what size tire are you looking at? 215/45/17 or 215/40/17
i think 215/40/17 will be just fine with prokit and sportlines.
i had no rubbing with 215/45/17. dropped about 2 with tein ss fullcoilovers

THanks for all the help guys.
I was going to go with 215/45/17 cus their overall diameter was closest to my stock tires, to prevent change in gear ratios and speedometer readings.

RSDCivic will become famous soon enough
I did 215/40/17 and I'm dropped on eibach sportline's, never rubbed at all, still have a slight amount of wheel gap, and the speedo is supposdly off by 3% which isnt that much...
