O.k. guys here's the deal. Before you read this post I want all of you to understand that this has been MY experience with Turbo Discounters. All of the problems mentioned in this post could have been avoided if they had included instructions. I know they are currently working on that as we speak.

Today I pulled my turbo out to check if the turbo still spun freely. It did but, not only did that one bolt back out and come off, ALL of the bolts that connect the turbo to the compressor were barely hand tight. I called them up to tell them I needed a bolt to replace the one that fell off and to tell them about the other bolts. I was placed on hold and a technician picked up the phone. This is were the REAL problem started at. I was told by him that they are supposed to tighten those bolts down but, I should have double checked them once the kit arrived. I am a big of enough person to agree with that. In my mind both parties are to blame Turbo Discounters and myself. Then I was told that they were not happy with me because, I have been posting MY problems with the kit on this forum. I was told I should have had their kit installed by a professional even though they have said a DIY could do the install. He asked me how many race engines I have built. At this point in the conversation I am getting very angry with this person. He said they expect the consumer to double check all of the bolts on the kit, I said I expected all of the parts to be included in the kit and install correctly (not having to buy fittings and bend brakets in the car to make it fit) I will be buying a bolt to replace theirs that fell off and I will be reinstalling the turbo. They did offer to send me a bolt. I was thinking of returning this kit but, do not want to loose roughly $600 on the restocking fee.

There have been 2 other people helping me install this kit. One of them has been a custom fabricator for a speed shop and has been working on cars all of his life. The other has an electrical background too long for me to remember it all. I have personally installed a chevy 305 into a 1985 300z. If you don't have is kind of help I PERSONALLY don't recommend installing this kit yourself.

Once again I remind all of you that this has been MY experience with this company. In a few days if I can get the turbo kit to run correctly I will have it dyno tuned and post results on this forum.

looks a bit gheto rigged.. not blaming your install or anything, but i mean u pay like 3G and you should get:
1. good clear SPECIFIC instructions.
2. all parts are included and u should NOT have to go buy anything additional.
3. all parts are prechecked for error BEFORE they are sent to the customer. this will avoid that turbine mishape u got hit with.

i wont be down for a turbo for alteast another 6 months. but hopefully all the kits out by then will have those 3 things above checked.

first off. dude get rid of that kit. send it back. ebay it. set it on fire. take them to court for misrepresenting their product. Or give them one nice chance to fix it. for what you paid, you should have a kit that bolts on, first try...

no tighening bolts, no ghetto brackets, no crappy air filter, no laundry dryer tube for an air intake...

looking at their websit tho, it sorta seems like their kits are slapped together from off the rack parts. look at their selection, look at the pictures... remarking similarities between kits...

i'm thinking maxrev would be the way to go... and please save the "but that turbo is too big" flames. then there's SF... which is sweet too, but cat. you need to calm down with the plugging and pushing.... in an informed market, the superior product always wins

but doesn't all this headache beg the question... "why turbo a civic when for the price of a turbo kit and rims you could buy a 944 turbo?"

That cast manifold looks nice though. Except for those little casting bungs (or whatever those pegs that stick out are).

screw that, you are the first one, let everyone know where you stand. Thats what this forum is for, right? Let everyone know so they can decide. and the new guys was right, the superior product will prevail, which ever one that is.

You can post whatever you want on these boards as long as you aren' blatantly lying. This is not their forum.
