Re: oil cooler?

Just be careful, you'll have a noticeable drop in the oil pressure if you run a cooler setup, make sure you do it right.

Re: oil cooler?

No you won't. You'll have an increase from cooler temps. Hence the purpose of the cooler. Cooler oil = more viscous = better pressure in hot conditions.

The entire system floods, the pressure doesnt drop unless you seriously mis-size the lines. -10 lines work just fine, my oil pressure drop is less than 1 psi.

I'm using the little earls cooler and it works more than adequately. Dont want to go to low though.... you want the oil to be around 210 degrees hot.

Hey GUys 41 will become famous soon enough
Re: oil cooler?

Best way to do it, is to have one with a thermostat to regulate the cooling, but those are pricey.. in the several hundred $ range.

Exactly. Earl's makes a nice one that fits like a sandwich plate adapter and it's barely over $100. It's not a bad ideal for anyone going turbo, they help out alot.

Re: oil cooler?

Summit has the inline thermostats for oil coolers for like $26. Page 142 of the spring catalog.
