Hi guys, I'm from Singapore. We have D16s for ES down here.
I wonder if anyone has changed their (Final Drive)FD before in their Stock D17 in states?

Re: Changing FD
I would have to say no. I don't believe any one makes a different final drive for the transmissions on the d17's. Right the moment the only thing transmission related they have out for our cars now is dezod is carrying a LSD but I don't think any one has actually installed it yet, since it only came out about a month ago. Nice ride though, it looks really clean and smooth!
Re: Changing FD
I was thinking of reducing the huge drop everytime I upshift. Another method is a close gearbox ratio. But changing FD will be easier. I wonder if We could use the EG civics gear ratio from Mfactory
Some photos of my humble ES Civic.

The photos below were taken on the Move coordinated with the photographer in another car. (My car was Running at 60-90km/hour)

Re: Changing FD
changing the final drive wont move the gears any closer together. It just shifts the entire set of gearing higher or lower. If you want to move the ratios closer, you need to swap the gearsets for each gear.
Re: Changing FD

So even if the RPM drops by 2k, it will increase faster after the gearchange
Re: Changing FD

Singapore to USA, i wonder how much the cost will it be!
You guys have it better in USA, we don't have no flywheels here, No ACT dudes!

Re: Changing FD
1st 3.142
2nd 1.869
3rd 1.241
4th 0.969
5th 0.756 on EX and 0.710 on LX
Final 4.411 on EX and 4.111 on LX
LX and DX have same ratios
HX is
1st 3.142
2nd 1.750
3rd 1.166
4th 0.857
5th 0.710
and final is 3.842
everything out of the EX will fit on the LX tranny
There is a possibility that the parts out of the honda fit transmission will fit but no one I think really knows for sure so don't hold me to that. the quafie LSD that dezod sells for our cars supposedly is originally made for the fit and you have to use the fit ring gear and bolts.

Re: Changing FD
I got all my ratios off one of the parameter maps on my K-pro those are the ratios that hondata uses for the trans missions IMO i would trust those cause honda usually keeps the first gear ratio the same in all of there transmissions.
As for the axles last I checked you can use all d17 axles with all d17 transmissions the only problem you run into is using k-series axles cause they have different spline on the shaft. but I would double check that you can probably fine what you are looking for in the brake swap section because if you do 5 lug swap there is something about changing axles
