Re: Built engine is done and ready to Dyno!

Were you trying to turbo the car to be smog legal?

I just rememeber another cali member turboing (a white em2 civic) and he mentioned that an aftermarket turbo could be done if the piping was done correctly; and I see that you do have that recirculation pipe so that is why I'm asking; I believe he mentioned that.

Re: Built engine is done and ready to Dyno!

Well even after having the choke section removed from my exhaust I only made 235whp & 206 ft/lbs torque @ 13 PSI. We then unbolted it after the cat and tried again. With an open DP i made.... Well my clutch slipped like a bitch but I made ~ 218 ft/lbs at 5k rpms before the slippage.

Re: Built engine is done and ready to Dyno!

Im not trying to be smog legal. I just don't want to do a return fuel system because everything I have changed needs to be put back stock before smog. I left the tuner with the gas light on and no leaning out. I diddn't change any of the fuel lines or anything. I just added a boost refrence port to the regulator. My injectors where at about 52 % duty on the last run.

Numbers seem low but hey you're fully built and have a safe tune. Enjoy that bad boy. Something tells me next time around will bring bigger numbers; you've got a great platform to go from now.

Re: Built engine is done and ready to Dyno!

well im sure its the exhaust. Even shawn said that because It really wasnt making anymore power with higher boost. Once we unbolted it the turbo spooled about 1k rpm's sooner then before and thats when the clutch died lol.

Good to know. All the more reason for me to buy my welder and make my new exhaust soon. Glad to here your fuel setup works well and can stay hidden in the tank to fool the Cali enviro-*****.

Re: Built engine is done and ready to Dyno!

What was your redline with kpro im just curious? I'm assuming you have a t3/t4 not sure what trim but you did mention you have a later spool, so I'm guessing you have like a 60 A/R?

Re: Built engine is done and ready to Dyno!

the fuel cut is set to 7500 rpms Its just the stock turbo with the Dezod kit. The only reason it spools later is cause of the exhaust.

Well last i checked you could cheat.... doing it at the tank so you could never find it. i was going to do that but decided not to.. Just would require a T fitting and putting the Pressure regulator there.

Re: Built engine is done and ready to Dyno!

ya but in the tank is even more hidden haha. One problem tho... the car heats up now, at low speeds it will get to like 225f then I turned on the heater and it went right down so I gotta figure out what the deal is. I hope its not a head gasket...

Re: Built engine is done and ready to Dyno!

Sounds like a headgasket to me.... sure fire check is the full coolant bottle. what did you torque the studs down to?

Your power seems a little low for the boost level, but you are running 91 octane (stupid california) and clogging the **** out of it. But then again, on a full 2.25" exhaust my little turbo made more power than that on less boost. Check around while you're at it. Open downpipe is a whole lot different than running a full exhaust.

Re: Built engine is done and ready to Dyno!

The studs are at 80 ft lbs. I was really thinking it was the hg because the coolant bottle is totally full.

well I know the torque shot WAY up with the exhaust taken off so I may just have a cut out welded in so I can have the power when I want it and have it quiet all the other time.

Have a custom 2.5" made to mate to the downpipe and use a nice bullet resonator like this:

and a muffler like this:

Re: Built engine is done and ready to Dyno!

Chech this site out for exhaust, they made an exhast that produces a vacum helping the exhasut flow and helps reduce turbo temps. Here is the vid page:

http://www.aeroexhaust.com/aero_perf...e_exhaust.html

Also, for cooling might I suggest EVANs waterless NPG coolant: http://www.evanscooling.com/catalog/C_npg1.htm#outline

Pretty common with these cars, the additional load and turbo. Can K-Pro adjust fan control? I am assuming it can.

Have the fans come on at 195 and over heat temp to 215. Is there a capacity draw for the fans? Also, is there an ability to operate just one fan or both? I know the 2nd fan kicks on with the A/C on.

PM sent.

both fans come on at the same time when the temp is up and also with the a/c on. I think the fans draw about 4 amps each.

Re: Built engine is done and ready to Dyno!

Well I drove it around for like 10 mins and looked at the exhaust to see if I could see steam and I diddn't. I then let the car idle for a minute or 2 in my driveway and there was a small puddle of water under the tailpipe. So im pretty sure the car is using coolant. Im gonna pressure test the cooling system tomorrow to see what happens.

Re: Built engine is done and ready to Dyno!

You probably blew it. Dont trust the diagnostics too much. My car showed good compression and leakdown, held pressure, etc... and the HG was blown in all 4 cylinders.
I think you're head is on a bit too tight. Honda spec is 49 lb-ft. Most people go 5-10 lb-ft over the spec. I hope you didnt warp the deck.
