K20 swap or turbo? ~Help in Rochester NY!~
Whuzzat?
Wow, been a while since I've been here. Well, I've come to realize that swapping in the K20A from a Type-R is really rediculous when I could just get the K20A2 and it wouldn't be much worse off. Also would be a lot cheaper. Also, since Dezod increased the price of the stage one kit, and the VIP kit isn't much cheaper, that and I can't have a catalytic convertor since the turbo melts it, I think the best bet it to just go w/ the A2.......like.....a long time down the road. Oh, and on a side note, some guy rear ended me last month and Honda is going to cut out my entire rear body panel and weld on a complete new one....bah.
At least I don't have to pay for it.

A2 is definitly best, if your going to do it do it right.
Eclectic - A turbo acts as a resonator. if you were to put on a turbo kit, with a full exhaust (cat, resonator, muffler) it won't sound TOO loud,
however it will definitly be noticable from behind the car, you can definitly hear the turbo spool, other places like beside, it will be hard to do but you could make it quiet enough with a good resonator, and quiet muffler.
the BOV is always REALLY loud, that's why I would go with a DSM (eagle talon) BOV. they are good for 30psi (normally) and at least the auto ones, you can barely hear it when you have the BOV release into the compressor suction, (intake pipe going into turbo). but any turbo routed there will be quieter but the DSM is the quietest I have ever heard.
hope this helps.
