hey dezod good job on the turbo kit so far. When I get your turbo kit I'm thinking of purchasing the AEM EMS. I hear this is way better than the e-manage. By the way did AEM release this for our cars yet.

hey dezod!!!!! I road in yourinmyworlds civic yesterday. We were blazing around at 7psi. He says he runs 7psi daily. he has a stick shift though... would you care to test running around for a couple weeks on 7psi in your auto? I just want to see how that performs.......
His car pulls like gods feet, literlly it feels like a differnt machine....Wrx's arent even that fast. some old muscle car el camino tried racing us and he just wiped him clean! I finally have seen the potential of boost in action and all I can say is
BTW we were flooring it on the freeway, can you really feel differnce between 5psi and 7psi? I mean is it that big differnce of push?
ohh ya let me know about 7psi daily thing

I am now running 6.5 PSI daily. It still feels smooth & nice. I am tuned and pretty much maxed out on fuel at 8.5 PSI. I have been gradually inducing the boost into the system.

Tough to say, probably 10% more HP. Also is dependent upon what kinda exhaust your running with it.

I can provide some general idea of what to have settings on, but that will vary from user to user as to what EXACT settings they may want. Some people want more top end then mid-range....etc.

We are going to look into slight refinements and possibly running it on a 5 speed, which will make a lot of difference power wise. No one has shown dynos on AUTOs. That is you absolute worst case scenario FI situation. So, I'd say that's the plan.

We have a real nice refined manifold design that we will be using for the enternally gated version. The downpipe will have slightly better flow too. Possibly even 1 or 2 more real minor things as far as design goes. Other than that, we are pretty much set to go. It drives like a stock turbo car now, so that I am VERY pleased with. I have ridden in some real nasty turbo'd cars before. So this is a dream. We still need a 5 speed tester. Our sponsored Madwheel MAY have a REAL nice suprise in his driveway!

A Vortech or Aeromotive unit is an FMU as well, however IMO has less reliability due to past experiences with them. But to each his own.

The addition of an S-AFC or V-AFC does not require the use of larger injectors at all. OE equipment can be used on them. Larger injectors being used on this unit are possible, however it is a "hack" to do so. Hacks as well all know, are not THAT reliable.
correct and if you notice i said that the safc and vafc are better for tuning purposes.and also that they are signal converters they actuall have more adjustment points and more refinement. but with that also come the scare that you can max out your stock injector flow and duty cycle. that is why it is better to run a larger injector when using a safc or vafc. see if you run more pressure through the injector it lowers the life of the injector because the injector is flowing more pressure constantly and the duty cycle is not 100% on stock injectors. so basicly eventually you will be running a lot of boost and an injector will give. even if it is for a split second it can still cause major damage. if you run a larger injector and detune it your not running the risk of injector failure simply because your not running the injector at or just below its max. so to detune on larger injectors is wayy safer than maxing out your stock injector.
its not really considered a hack if you change injectors. its really pretty simple to do. ive done it on several different types of vehicles. the only reason you could even use the word hack is because of changing the wires over. but if you can wire a stereo than you can do this.and if you cant wire an injector you shouldnt be boosting your own car, right?

I still have some issues to work out with Madwheel prior to all this EVO business. Once we get that squared away, we will give you all a heads up!

if i wanted to be a "guinea pig" what would that cost me? or are u only looking at local boys?

im sure that the fitament would be the same if not easier for the 5spd cause the auto tranny takes up a lot of room, what would be included in the kit as of now? and what kinda price would i be looking at?

Uh yeah its not - but when you fvck with the MAP signal (such as when you change the injectors), and you run a VAFC or SAFC for turbo you are going to eventually destroy your car. Since the MAP signal is fvcked, the ECU thinks you are still on an NA ignition map, so it fvcks your timing over. This is why these are a bad choice when running boost - you can't account for the timing variance. Henceforth this is known as the VAFC hack - because you are tricking the car to make it work (it has nothing to do with the wires).

ok well that makes more sense but the contraversy was over a (boost sensative fpr or a fmu) and a signal converter like a safc or vafc. i realize that piggy-back or standalone are always best choice. but earlier in the thread he was talking about using the safc and vafc for tuning instead of a emanage or another piggyback and called them a fmu. which could be called a fmu since it does control fuel but way different than a true fmu.
ive got another piggyback you guys should look into its called the perfect power computer model smt6.http://www.perfectpower.com/default.asp it can control up to 6 extra sub injectors and 128 map points. and its pretty easy to tune. this is what some of us domestic guys are using on cavi's and s10's.
