3 inch piping

I was wonderign if i was to get 3 inch piping for a turbo, would there be a ny loss of power at lower revs, cuz of the lack of backpressure, cuz I wanna get a HKS Carbon-Ti muffler a,d custom piping (maybe titanium) and wanted to know if it would be beneficial or not...

thanks...

3 inch piping is wayyyy to big, only expect one thing if ya get 3inch piping...thats power "LOSS" you might not get backpressure but youd be flowing wayyy to much air through your pipes....

What motor are you turboeing? also what size turbo? specs please...turbine and compressor side if ya have those numbers...etc these are all factors but most likely if your running t3 or smaller like most civics should if their not built then specs should be around .48/.42 or around there...ummm 3 is still to big, your turbo will not lag but at same time you wont get any extra power from just bigger piping ...good luck doe

^^^^^ Yup, depends on how your turbo is built and what type of engine/mods you have. I am using a 3" piping for mine.

IS it gonna be a stock SF turbo, or is Stafford gonna custom build the internals of your turbo? Anyways, I would go 2.75 personally. But, you definetly want a minimum of 2.5 for the turbo system.

2.5 is usually a good size piping for normal turbo use. 3" piping is really used for 20+ psi on highly modded cars. You can use a 3" pipe, but you wont see any big power untill you get enough boost moving the exhaust gasses fast enough.

Holy misinformation, batman.
Once I get my build done, I'm going to upgrad to a 3" dp and full 3" with no muffler all the way back.
On a d17, if it's stock, it runs off of backpressure. Upgrading to a 2.5" will loose power with that setup for sure. I know mine does.
For a turbo setup, if you're running 8+ daily, I'd say a 3" would be a good choice for it.

the bigger the pipe the better. With a turbo you do not have to worry about loss in back pressure. I am proving that right now. My car has the 3" downpipe and no exhaust. All i have is the downpipe. Did i lose power? No. Did i gain power? Yes.
Funny how that works.
