Dead Battery, what did I break??
I spent the better part of the day replacing my 01 Civic cluster with the newer 03 civic cluster design, this wasnt really complicated but just took some time, both clusters have the same connectors just different wiring layouts.
During the day as I was doing this my battery died and I blew a fuse.
I didnt know what the reason was for the battery failure and figured it was due to the stereo in the car, so i unplugged the positive line going to the amp.
I got a jumpstart and drove around for about 30 min, hoping everything was fine, after that I turned it off and on a few times, and about an hour later started it again, all was well.
I just walked outside (this is 2-3 hours later) and the battery is dead again. I know the first culprit was that the cluster rewire did it, but I dont see how it could short out when I didnt cut anything, just moved pins around inside connectors, the second thing i am thinking is, is the battery possibly bad? I dont know if this is the battery the car came with but can draining a car battery to a very low level damage it?
I am stranded
Does anyone have a voltometer? I need to see if the battery has a load when the car is off..

Well we can always go in there and ask.. I sometiems just go in and talk toa tech guy and see if they know something. They usually kinda hook you up and if they know the answer they wil tell you... thats my experience. If your cool with them they'll usually be cool with you

Hmmm I noticed you said a fuse blew, is that why your power stuff isnt working? I mean shoot, I'd take my car in there (if it's still under warrenty) and have them try to fix it, chances are they wont notice the guage cluster.... lol... it's worth a try. or you can always throw mine in, take the car in have them fix it then take mine out LOLOLOL

I love fuses!!!!
It was a fuse ;P The problem was I was only checking fuses that were there to see if they were blown, this fuse wasnt even there labeled PW Relay... I put in one with the right amp and it all works again, yay!!!!
Now I just have to get my radio unlocked and I am golden
