Rep Power: 0 buy an airplane!! .. lol jp .. but if you think your having problems with an 05 new evo .. i can only ASSURE you .. that you will have mannny more with a SWAPPED, BOOSTED, K-SERIES civic ..
SWAPS= problems
BOOST= many problems
SWAP + BOOST = a LOTTT of problems no matter how right you do it and how well you tune it . you will always run into lil problems

Rep Power: 258 You have too much money and too much time to be able to swap between cars and say you are bored. Most people dream of being able to do that. Just don't rub it in

Rep Power: 233 Well cant you just get low c/r pistons for the k20a2? but i have 2 admit there are some fast a$$ civics n/a with k24 block and k20a2 head with high c/r and LSD trany and they move.

I have personally seen a couple of turbo'ed RSX-S blow up while racing on the freeway. And apparently the c/r was altered to support a turbo spooling 14.5 lbs of boost. Those engines have too high of a c/r to support of forced induction setup. Plus you can get more power out of them by keeping them n/a.

Rep Power: 341 i understand the c/r, but the k20a3 has weak low end and the internals can not typically stand very high hp, right? meh i dunno, i was just asking. also, if a boosted k20a2 blows up from detonation, they should have run higher octane.

Rep Power: 278 your back peddling man your new statement contradicts your old! which is it? ifrst you state the c/r was altered to support the boost, well with altered c/r it was most likely a pistond/rod package and that should be able to handle 14.5 psi. if it was a forged rod/piston package then the guy is stupid for putting that much boost to a otherwise stock bottom end he deserves to blow the motor at least once. octane can help with detonation but its not was causes it. there are a number of things that can cause detonation if your running high boost levels and reg ol 91-93 cant do the job then its great to use race fuel but you can safely tune car to run strong with out it if done properly. if you build a k series right it will produce gobbs of power its an oversquare motor just like a lot of race bikes. its good for high rpm's and if your putting high boost with high rpms you have to have strong internals regardless of what octane you decide to use at the time.
