custom piping = 80-$200 depending what you want
results = same cost as almost an catback where as the resell value of the catback is higher and every piece of that catback exhaust is bound to fit with minimal to no problems.
3" inlet (80mm) is huge for our cars. IMO thats just asking for noise and looks. but i notice you said you dont want a rapsy tone and mentioned the apexi was like that, thats false. every authenic apexi exhaust/muffler ive heard sounds real good. if you wanted lower tone sounds, i would stay away from that tanabe then. i can gaurantee that muffler will make your car rapsy/loud with stock piping.
also, the shop that told you they can make ur car louder with custom piping means = bigger pipes from the cat to muffler and no resonator. which results in very loud tone to the point where you can be heard blocks away

Rep Power: 264 save your money on the intake/header/exhaust thing. Spending 600-1000 really worth the 10-15hp??? D17 only has two options worth it if u want speed. Boost or swap. Thats just the way it goes. DOnt make the same mistakes as most people on the boards, including me

Rep Power: 296 I'm only going to do the axle back way with the Tanabe Muffler, but I am doing Cold Air intake, I may do headers to dress up the engine bay, I'm going for show so everything you see counts.
