Re: Suspension questions

Define "Upgrade"
Do you want it to perform better?

Aftermarket Coilover systems will give you the best fitment, as you can control the height of the car to your exact satisfaction.

Re: Suspension questions

yes i want it to perform better. i was thinking about the eibach pro plus kit with the sway bars cuz it only drops it like 1". I have rough roads and lots of speedbumps where i live. With just a 1" drop, is it really necessary to upgrade the shocks?

It's necessary to replace the shocks in order to get the best upgrade in performance. Only replacing the springs will still give you an upgrade in handling just not as good as with performance shocks to match. Just upgrading to new performance struts will make it perform better.

The Eibach sway bar kit is not the best. A Progress rear sway bar would be a better option as to is larger then the Eibach one. Also an upgraded front bar may not be needed. I just upgraded my rear and was happy with how much more neutral the car handled, so I left the from bar alone.

Replacing worn suspension components will help also like sway bar end links, ball joints, LCA bushings and sway bar bushings.

Re: Suspension questions

Ok i found the tokiko blues i think. They call them hp's? I hope you can see the attached picture and tell me if these are the right ones. Also with the eibach sport kit, will i need a camber kit to get a proper alignment done?

Re: Suspension questions

Yea that's them.

With a pro kit you should be ok without a camber kit. Only benefit would be the ability to tune your suspension using camber.

the sport will go lower, potentially you need the rear ones to bring the camber back to where it should be, closer to zero.
could be later, after you check if you are understeering too much, such as a rainy day. downside is you will need to align car again.

Re: Suspension questions

^ I fail! Good catch.

I had a Sportline kit and needed a rear camber kit to get back into spec (this is what the alignment shop told me). If you don't mind riding out of spec alignment then you will be ok.

Re: Suspension questions

You could always go with an RSX-S rear sway bar instead of buying an aftermarket one. You can also swap the springs from an RSX to get a similar ride height with a firmer ride.
