Rep Power: 0 SKUNK2 people help
i have a question for everyone that is ridin on skunk2s, is it bad? do you regret it? I just bought some skunk2s and the performance shop near my area refuses to install them because they say it'll do more damage then good. I understand the ride comfort will be terrible due to the fact im still ridin on stock shocks, but i plan to change em in the future. I just want to lower my car for now. Opinions please.

They probably wont install because they know that after market springs will eventually blow your stock shocks, they dont want to be responsible. And there are DIY on installing springs yourself, but you will blow your shocks eventually.

Rep Power: 301 all-though someONE has a bad experience, they get fixed or recalled and remade. mine have drove fine under heavy conditions for a year now!
and also i dont undrestand what type of shop will refuse since a turbo to a D17 will do more harm to your car than a coilover, and turbo blow and engine, a coilover blows a shock or some other suspension related component. but DIY...it isnt that hard. shoot off the springs in a sleeping bag and trash bag. ive done may time using a DIY on this site.

Rep Power: 252 ive had skunk2 coilovers on the 7thgen and it was horrible. bottomed out and ride was too harsh for daily driving. sure it was great on the turns (freeway off ramps =D) but i eventually wanted a smoother ride so i went with sport springs. when i removed them, they were also kind of rusted and paint chipping, but nothing that would affect the spring material itself i believe.
however, i did blow a koni strut with skunk2 coilovers due to bottoming out and my koni settings up front were halfway between firm/soft.
i would never buy skunk2 coilovers again nor recommend them.

Rep Power: 0 I never understood why anyone would want the sleeve style "coilovers"... Save up your money and get a true full coilover with adjustable dampening. My civic is slammed on Tein Super Streets, and they were worth every penny. The Skunk2 mega power exhaust is totally badass! I've heard some other exhausts, but none of them sound near as deep or loud as Skunk2! I highly recommend their cat back for our gen civics!

Rep Power: 248 ground controls are good. i dont have an experience with them but some of the like hardcore autoxers (boiler) had JIC magics i believe and switched to ground controls. that says enough about them already.

Gc??
i had some Ground Control sleeves with Koni blues all around i got them from a friend who had his car lowered all the way,so i left it alone.. but the sleeves i used were from another friends RSX type-s so.. maybe the pring rating was different, anyway i liked them a lot. im actually in the process of changing back to stock.. until i can afford some full coilovers..

i have the skunk 2's but i wouldnt recommend them either...i have to replace all my struts. ive been riding on the oem ones for a while. i only got them because they were 8o bucks and i just wanted to lower my car asap. your probably better off saving for true co's like the tien ss.

Sorry to tell u this but all ive heard from skunk 2 springs are that they arnt very good. They dont lower the car very well and there un reliable. Personally get TEIN or H&R. THose tpically work bests for civics. As far as them refusing to install them. thats bogus. U are freaking paying them to do it. They must be stupid not to do it because in the long run if anything happens they will not be reliable. It also depends where u live.. Which part?
