Saw the odometer go batshit today...

I happened to look at my odometer today and it was racing like I couldn't believe. My 18s have behaved since I put them on, and for a few miles on the highway today I couldn't believe how fast the tenths of miles were ringing up on the trip odo. Is it the wheels or the car, what the hell happened?

thats correct...... to a certain point.... it has to be the overall diameter thats smaller. You can have like... 185/70/14 then slap on 205/30/16 and it will mess things up a bit.

I used the tire calculator when I had the rims put on so I know that part. But this wasn't normal. I was watching the road markers and they weren't even close to 1/10...I'm talking a few seconds apart.

Yes, because I do so much highway driving that my odometer at one point was in sync with the actual mile markers.

I haven't checked it recently, but I think 18's are 2.37% larger or something...thanks to those who posted, problem solved. I just ordered the EX premium 15's. I wanted to get rid of the 18's anyway because they took off about 5MPG, gas prices just gave me a better argument to spend that money.
