need help...still vibrating
so i got new 18's about 2 weeks ago. put them on...car vibrated between 50 an 60 mhp. so i got my wheel rebalanced....$60. Still vibrated. So i got hub centering rings...$23. still vibrating. Car pulls to the right...kinda. Do i need and alignment....and will that get rid of the vibrating????

you should always get an alignment done, but if after hubcentric rings and balancing of the tire and it still doesnt feel right, do you think it could be because your not used to the 18s? how is it vibrating like what exactly are you feeling?

the car is pretty smooth up to 50 mph...then it shakes. i feel it in the steering wheel and the wheels. then over 60 mph it smooths out again. it's pretty noticable. any thoughts??

oh yeah....got another question. are hub rings supposed to stick out of the wheel at all... because mine went into the wheel. i don't see how they could help align the wheel at all.....thanks

they should stick out a hair. when you torque the lugs down, the plastic ring should compress and fill the housing area and create a cushion between the rim and the hub.
check your tire pressure first off. check your lugs to make sure they are tight. next, get an alignment. more than likely, you hit a bump or pothole and your alignment is off; that is unless your rim is bent.
btw, any wheel that seems to be off balance, move it to the back passenger side to minimize and vibration that you'll feel.
When we can only put weights on the insdie of the wheel, we can still balance on both planes, by using clip-on weights on the inner lip, and stick on weights on the inner part of the wheel. With my 21540R18 & Motegi's I get a nice smooth ride by doing it this way. See if you can find a shop that can do this.

NO matter what ANYONE says it is IMPOSSIBLE for an alignment to cause a vibration directly. This includes camber kits!!! Vibrations are caused from rotating mass ONLY( tires, wheel, axles, transmission, engine............)! Assuming the car didnt vibrate before then its either a bent wheel, bad tire, or poor balance job( hub centric rings included ) Let me say one more time ..... IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR AN ALIGNMENT TO CAUSE A VIBRATION
